Since the 17th century there had been an accumulation of cottages on the crossroads where the ancient road from Glasgow to Irvine via Stewarton is crossed by the road from Paisley to Hamilton. Strathbungo is more than the Conservation Area, the Parish officially extended from Eglinton Toll southwards to Crossmyloof Station, comprising on the west side of Pollokshaws Road the whole area to the Bar

rhead railway (with its branch line to the Terminus Quay), from Maxwell Road on the north to the old Haggs Road (behind the present Titwood Road) on the south. East of Pollokshaws Road the parish had a triangle bounded on the east by Victoria Road and on the south by a rough line along the present Prince Edward Street to Pollokshaws Road.

The famous Edinburgh, award winning, vegetarian and vegan restaurant, Hendersons is coming to Strathbungo. 721 Pollkshaws Road to be precise. The opening date is a bit less certain though, with 'summer 2026' being cited.

The Bungo has left the building, welcome Tabac to the village.

Tabac, the Mitchell Lane cocktail spot known for its vintage style, signature drinks and its reputation as one of Glasgow’s most reliable date spots, is set to open a Strathbungo venue on Nithsdale Road site, taking over at the location that was formerly The Bungo Bar.
