Join us for an 'Apple Day' this Saturday 10th October, 10am until 2pm at The Fen Farm, Test Road, Sompting. If, of course, we have any apples! It seems that this year the apples have come early and gone rotten. Either way, we will set up our smaller press in the event that we get some at least to demonstrate how it works. The event is Farm Working day with limited facilities, but the aim is to press some apples for juice, we can talk about the plans for the Community Orchard, and show you how in the future our working horses will bring apples from the orchard to the farm for processing. Jake the Highland pony with Leighton Clay and Andrew Pinner will give carriage drives and demonstrate some log pulling. Sussex Wildlife Trust will also be with us, so you can get involved in some Fruit Tree Care. And we will have Tea and Cake available, and some activities for the kids.
