Rotary Club of Solihull Charity Pro-Am Golf Tournament 2026.

The 40th edition of this prestigious golf tournament was held at Copt Heath GC. Despite a mid afternoon shower the event was a great success with over £4,000 being raised for the nominated charities.
The winning professional, Tom Hamson from Horsley Lodge GC in Ilkeston, recorded a score of 4 under par, just ahead of Simon Lilley at 3 under par and Guy Woodman with 2 under par.

The team competition, using the best two from four scores to count was very competitive.
1st place, with 88 Stableford points was awarded to the team from Rugby GC, made up of Professional Jack Malone, Martin Sheppard, Neil Malone and Bob James.
2nd place, with 87 points was the team representing Farmfoods, led by Professional Simon Lilley from Wellingborough GC, and Eric Herd, Scott Andrew and Maurice Addison.
3rd place, with 87 points but with a lower score on countback was the Standley & Co team, led by Professional Tom Hamson, with Stephen Gooden, Jamie Skelding and Matthew Perry Parker.
4th place, with 86 points, representing Mickleover GC, was led by Professional James Wilkes and included Roger Hanks, Jim O’Hare and Malcolm Bailey.

Alongside the main competition there were four extra challenges. Nearest The Pin for the Pro’s on the 3rd hole was Elliot Jones, from Droitwich GC, and he doubled up with the Nearest the Pin in two shots on the 16th hole. Phil Beswick, a regular amateur player in this competition won the Nearest the Pin on hole 5 and Nigel Bloxidge from Nuneaton GC, was nearest in two on the 18th hole.

Representatives from the two main charities, Laura Rogers from Midlands Air Ambulance and Holly Hawkesford from Edwards Trust gave entertaining and very focussed talks.
Diana Holl-Allen rounded off the evening by saying well done to the competitors, thank you to the staff at Copt Heath GC,
A special thanks to those who donated items for the auction and raffle and finally to Laura and Holly for doing brilliant work in the community. The cheque presentations will take place asap, and lastly thanks to the Rotarians who helped.

Funds raised will be presented to Midlands Air Ambulance and Edward Trust, plus other local charities.

Solihull Rotary Club celebrated the successful completion of its first annual Easter food drive, collecting an impressive number of food items to support local families facing food insecurity. This community support initiative, powered by dedicated volunteers, will directly benefit the Solihull Renewal Church’s “Helping Hands” Community Food Bank.
The response from Buryfield Road area residents was excellent. Local families generously donated essential food items including tinned goods, pasta, rice, breakfast cereals, and baby food.
"We are absolutely thrilled with the generosity shown by our community," said Phil Godfrey the Rotary Club President. "In these challenging times, seeing neighbours helping neighbours reminds us of the true spirit of Easter and the values that make Solihull such a special place to live."
