73rd Birmingham Company, The Boys' Brigade We meet in co-operation with 2nd Solihull Company, The Girls' Brigade every Thursday evening.

We provide a safe and secure learning and activity based environment for boys from age 5 to 18 and have been in existence at Lyndon Methodist Church since 1939.

It is with deep regret and immense sadness that I must advise that the Company is to close permanently with effect from our last meeting on 10th July, 2025, after 86 years in existence at Lyndon.

Times move on and circumstances change and us 3 remaining staff are all in our sixties, and not able to do what we would like to do for our remaining 7 boys, anymore.

We have arranged for their transfer to our neighbours and good friends at 58th Birmingham Company at Yardley Baptist Church.

This coming Sunday, 15th June is our final Parade Service, during which our beloved Company Colours will be Paraded in Church and then retired to be kept safely on Church premises.

Just to inform parents of boys aged 5 to 18, after a temporary closure during and after Lockdown we re-launched our Boys’ Brigade Company as at January 2024. We have gained and retained the membership associated with our home Church, but are now actively searching for new members, particularly from Reception, Years 1 and 2 School Years so that we can grow our numbers from the ground up, whilst still servicing our older members aged 11+.

Anchors (5-7) meet on a Thursday evening from 6pm to 7.15pm at Lyndon Methodist Church Centre, Melton Avenue, Solihull and benefit from a range of physical activities and teachings based around the Bible. Whilst Boys’ Brigade is, itself, a Christian organisation, we happily accept members of all faiths, or none.
