💙 Grateful for you, Trish! 💙

Our heartfelt thanks to Trish for her wonderful dedication and devotion to the Mission Office in Solihull over the past almost three decades!

Trish has been a valued member of the Mission Office team. Her commitment, kindness and contribution to Columban mission, and to our supporters has been greatly appreciated, and she will be deeply missed.

Priests and Co-workers gathered last week to celebrate Trish with a wonderful afternoon tea. Please join us in wishing her every happiness and every blessing as she begins her retirement. 🌿

Today we celebrate the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of ecology, whose life reminds us of our deep connection with all creation.

As the Season of Creation draws to a close, we give thanks for the beauty and diversity of our common home, while remembering our responsibility to care for it and for one another.

The end of the Season of Creation is not the end of our call to action!! Inspired by St. Francis, may we continue to live more simply, protect the natural world and stand alongside communities most affected by environmental injustice.

🙏🏼 What if exploring your faith meant not only learning about justice, but living it?

⚖️ The Ember Programme brings together young adults aged 18–25 for six months of reflection, encounter, community and action. Together, we will explore Catholic social teaching, meet people and communities at the heart of today’s justice issues, and discover how our faith can shape the way we live in the world.

Throughout the Season of Creation, Christians around the world have come together in prayer and action for our common home.

In Taiwan, Columban missionaries marked the season with a prayer service and planted three special native trees.

🌱 Phoenix Mountain Camellia, a symbol of God’s renewing work
🌱 Taiwan Cinnamon, a symbol of commitment to future generations
🌱 Orange Jasmine, our tree of gratitude and promise, reminding us to cherish God’s gifts and care for creation

As we come to the end of the Season of Creation and the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, may the seeds we have planted continue to grow, not only in the earth, but in our hearts and communities.

Since 1993, UNITED has documented at least 72,813 refugee deaths linked to what it calls the “Fatal Policies of Fortress Europe”, with many more deaths believed to go undocumented.

Behind every number is a person, a family and a story. 🧡

Today we welcomed Catholic educators to St. Columbans to explore the current environment for refugees in the UK.

This clip shows some of the prayer stations used in this morning’s workshop leading from our conference hall to our beautiful and peaceful chapel. ✝️

Let us listen, learn and stand in solidarity with people seeking safety and a place to call home. 🧡

It was great to be at Keele University earlier this week!

Our Justice Peace and Ecology Co-ordinator James Trewby along with our two new Faith in Action Volunteers Bonnie and Anna, enjoyed meeting with the Catholic Society and chaplaincy team at Keele University where they shared faith, conversation and community.

We look forward to return visits!

How cute are these little ones? 🐄❤️

The Negros Nine Human Development Foundation is supported by the Columbans in the Philippines. They work alongside local communities to create sustainable livelihoods and build a brighter future for families.

These new cows are more than just adorable additions — they are part of a livelihood project that provides families with practical, sustainable opportunities and helps strengthen communities for the future. 🌱

Columbans are proud to support initiatives that place people, dignity and sustainable development at the heart of their work.
