Here’s another exhibition for you to go and see

11/10/2026

Our successful 3 day exhibition drew to a close last night after prize giving.
The theme for the Whitfield Trophy was “ Fireworks “ and the paintings are voted for by the members of the art group. The trophy was awarded to Lesley Yaxley.
Ann Turner, Chairperson of the board of Trustees to the Institute, chose her favourite flower painting and
Bobbie Thomas was awarded the Rose Bowl
The Lewis Cup is only awarded in the October exhibition and is presented in memory of Richard Lewis. His widow Mavis Lewis was unfortunately unable to come to the exhibition and Gina , the Institutes manager, very kindly chose a painting on behalf of Mavis. She chose “Poppy Field” by Karen Road as poppies held a significant meaning to Richard and Mavis.
Our main trophy , awarded for the publics favourite picture in the exhibition, was then awarded to Vicki Cox for her painting “The Jetty”
