2nd Solihull Girls Brigade The 2nd Solihull Girls' Brigade is a youth organisation for girls aged between 4 and 18 years.

During Volunteering Week, please consider 2nd Solihull Girls Brigade. We meet on Thursday evenings from 6pm. We have a fantastic group of 35 girls from the age of 4 and up.

Are you good with crafts? Are you great with games?

Our existing leaders are a mighty but small team and we would really appreciate some help. We make a good cup of tea and have a tuck shop too!

It is with heavy hearts that 2nd Solihull Girls' Brigade shares the sad news of the passing of Claire Frew.

Claire first joined the Girls' Brigade as an Explorer at the age of 5. Growing up she played the bell lyre in the joint GB / BB Band (along with 73rd Birmingham Boys’ Brigade). Claire went on to become a committed leader, giving her time and passion to both the Senior and Brigader sections.

Claire also ran the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme along with other leaders. She enjoyed setting the groups off so that she could go for breakfast!

Then, after the retirement of the band master, Claire stepped in. A role which she loved.

She has remained a dedicated and much-loved member ever since.

She will be fondly remembered for her dedication, and the positive impact she had on so many young and old lives within our company. Claire will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Claire was just 50 years old.

Her funeral will take place on Thursday 4th June 12.30pm at Lyndon Methodist Church and afterwards a celebration of her life at the Crowne Plaza, Solihull.
