Viva Arts and Community Group

Viva Arts and Community Group Viva focuses on cultural outreach, award-winning theatre, arts engagement and heritage projects. Viva works very hard to generate its own income.

In 2008 it purchased premises, The Viva Charity shop, 7 CHURCHGATE STREET, Soham. The charity shop sells clothes, toys, household goods and furniture which provides some core funds for the youth theatre. However, the organisation costs much more to run, so we work hard to fundraise too. Viva Arts and Community Group began life as a small youth theatre run by a team of volunteers. Now Viva Youth Th

eatre stages a least two major productions a year playing to audiences of up to 1000, and for the past seven years Viva Touring has taken shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The awards keep coming, the latest being the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service – The MBE for Voluntary Groups. An adult theatre group (Viva Theatre Company) was established in 2007 – also an award winner and today it has 30 members who perform at least two productions a year.

STATEMENT AND UPDATE FOR MEMBERS & VOLUNTEERS

Viva Arts and Community Group

As Viva continues to grow, evolve and take on exciting new opportunities, we are beginning a recruitment and restructuring process to ensure the charity has the right long-term staffing model in place for the future.

Over the past year or so, our dedicated staff team has played a huge role in helping Viva reach where it is today. Their hard work, flexibility, passion and commitment have enabled the charity to grow beyond all expectations, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they have achieved.

Our current staffing arrangements were always intended as temporary solutions to support a period of rapid change and development. With the charity now entering a new phase – including the growth of The Viva Theatre, the acquisition of Cambridge Touring Productions, and exciting future projects – the time has come to put in place a more permanent structure that can support our ambitions for years to come.

The future is bright for Viva, and we're excited about what comes next.

Viva friends! Are you missing the football already???

Well, not to worry!

The FIFA WORLD CUP starts on June 11th and we are running a sweepstake as a fundraiser for the Edinburgh trip this year. There are 48 teams and it’s £5 per team.

The winner will receive £50 prize, runner up £20 and third and fourth place get £10 each.

To enter click on the link:

and pay £5 for a team leaving your name as a reference, and also comment in this post. Let’s limit it to 2 teams per person to begin with and see how quickly they go.

Teams will be drawn as soon as all the teams are sold and we will post who has which team.

Good luck everyone! It’s coming home!!!
