Snitterfield Pavilion

Snitterfield Pavilion Project to build a superb new multi-use pavilion on Snitterfield's Wolverton Road playing field

04/01/2026

In the last week of December, we had generous donations from the following towards Snitterfield's Community Pavilion:

Paul Cross
Denise Newsom
Nick Lamb
Friends of Snitterfield School
John Wyllie
Toby Jones
Julie Sparks
Vijay Babu

A big thank you to everyone who donated and helped us to reach the target, hence qualifying for the £15,000 grant from Sport England 🥰

The total raised from the Crowdfunder stands at £33,201. Added to the funds and grants already received that now gives us most of the money we think we need. Donations are still welcome using the link below

I'll provide updates as the project moves forward, but I think our ideal time to begin construction will be the end of Summer 2026. For those who've qualified for plaques and personalised bricks, we'll be in touch later in the year to confirm the wording with you

Thanks again everyone, a tremendous effort which reflects very well on our village!

And thanks again to all the wonderful people and businesses that have donated and allowed us to claim the Sport England grant.

We're now just shy of £32,000. Only 10 days left before the fundraiser closes. It would be great to get a few more donations in before the campaign closes, and put us in a great position to finally deliver the building next year.

You can leave a permanent legacy by claiming a personalised message on the front paving, or on a plaque for larger donations
And as the playing field charity can reclaim Gift Aid, your donations will go even further!

About 50 of you have opted for a personalised brick, and you will not be disappointed. What we have in mind is how Kineton CC have done this - forming the paving at the front of the pavilion. Every week, people will sit there, look down and read your personal message - for as long as the pavilion still stands! Thank you

Please share the link as widely as you can before 31 December so see how close we can get to our "stretch" target of £40k - https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/snitterfield-pavilion

We had some amazing news for our project at the weekend. After receiving very generous donations from ICM Ltd and Mark McKinney (CASS), we have reached our £30k fundraising target for the pavilion. This includes the £15k Sport England grant which our donors have all helped to secure for the village!

Thanks also to the following fantastic people who have donated since my last update:

Oleg and Lena
Peter Moorse
Michael Dickaty
The Chesters
Gavin and Claire Emery-Gerard
Hilary & Ole
The Stratford Alehouse
Stuart Jones
Tabby Bull
Jenny Yates
Helen Berry
Kim

We've had 100 separate donors in total in just 4 weeks, which is just incredible. This gets us close to our fundraising target, and we'll now focus on further fundraising and grant opportunities to make this all happen in 2026.

The Crowdfunder will remain open until 31 December, and we'd love to see more individuals claim their personalised bricks or other rewards and put their name to our project. But in the meantime, thank you thank you all again! 😍😍😍

Our charity Snitterfield Playing Field has got some very exciting news to share ...

We have managed to get a pledge from Sport England towards the proposed community pavilion. If we can raise at least £15,000 from a crowdfunding campaign by 31 December, Sport England will match that with a further £15,000. 😍 This would take us most of the way to our fundraising target of £200k and gives us a chance of finally delivering the new facility in 2026. This really would transform the playing field for everyone, and complement plans to further improve its recreational facilities - not to mention replacing the existing eyesore!
The campaign link is https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/snitterfield-pavilion and it's worth visiting for the video alone 😎 (Thanks to Ed Tyler!)

Any donations large or small will be greatly appreciated (and see the above link for how you can claim a personalised message on a brick in front of the new building). And if you're a taxpayer and tick the Gift Aid box, we gain an extra 25p per £1. So together with the Sport England match funds, each £1 donated is potentially worth up to £2.25 to be invested in our village!

Obviously, the £15k of match funding is a sum that we really don't want to miss out on, and it would be amazing to get as many of you as possible to get involved. Plus if you can share the link with any contacts or businesses who you think could help, that would be much appreciated. Thank you!
