🚨 We’re recruiting: Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) – DEMO🚨
Location: Sandwell
Salary: £43,060–£52,580 p.a. with NMP qualification
£36,910–£44,160 p.a. without NMP qualification
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Job Reference: 1761
An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen to join our Dynamic-Evolving Model of Outreach (DEMO) team as a Non-Medical Prescriber.
This is not a traditional clinical role. You’ll work directly with people who use substances and who may have little or no contact with mainstream drug services — including people injecting drugs in public spaces and those experiencing complex health needs.
You’ll meet people where they are, on their terms and in their own environment, building trusted relationships and delivering practical, life-saving interventions.
💊 What you’ll do:
Prescribe opioid substitution and appropriate primary care medications
Deliver wound care and dry blood spot testing
Provide harm reduction interventions, including injecting equipment and naloxone
Respond rapidly and effectively to near-fatal overdoses
Lead a small team of an Outreach Practitioner and Sandwell peers
Advocate for people to access healthcare, housing, benefits, social care and other support
Continuously assess dynamic risk using a risk-alert, not risk-averse approach
Work in partnership with colleagues, peers and external agencies
We’re looking for someone who brings compassion, courage and clinical expertise, alongside excellent communication, engagement and organisational skills.
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who believes in meeting people where they’re at and understands the power of harm reduction and trauma-informed practice.
🌟 Could this be you?
A Non-Medical Prescribing qualification is required for the higher salary range. Applicants without NMP can be considered on the lower salary range, with the expectation that they successfully complete the NMP qualification within one year of starting.
An Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) qualification is desirable.
You’ll need to be confident working flexibly, including some evenings and unsociable hours, and have the courage to engage with people in isolated, hidden and sometimes challenging environments.
📅 Closing date: Sunday 13 September 2026
📅 Interviews: September 2026
