Happy Birthday Frank! 🧡

Today we are celebrating Frank, our Asian Golden Cat's 16th birthday! Frank was rescued from euthanasia in January last year after living through neglect & unsanitary conditions and their previous site was shut down, alongside Rhys, Boson and Blob.

Since then, Frank has really settled into the Sanctuary. Despite being naturally on the more elusive side, Frank will sometimes come out to say hello to our guests, amazing them with his beauty. As the only Asian Golden Cat currently in the UK, Frank is not a sight to miss! 🤩

We hid Jua's food inside a ball fitted with tubes & the only way to get to it is to dig it out. It taps into her natural hunting instincts, keeping her mentally sharp and physically active in the process.

Update on the Small Cat Rescue Centre ‼️

The new home for Rhys, Blob, Boson and Ursa is well underway and on track to be complete next month, just in time for Big Cat Fest.

Rhys, Blob and Boson were all facing euthanasia after their previous site was shut down due to neglect and unsanitary conditions. Ursa was rescued from conflict-affected Ukraine, having been born into the illegal wildlife pet trade.

Every one of these cats deserves a home where they can truly thrive, and thanks to your incredible support, that home is nearly here. 🧡

Today is Ursa’s Birthday, our rescued lynx from the war in Ukraine. 🧡

Like many rescue animals, we don’t know exactly when Ursa was born.

But today is International Lynx Day, and also the birthday of Grace Sampson, who co-founded The Big Cat Sanctuary alongside Peter Sampson, making it the perfect day to celebrate this incredible lynx.

So from today onwards, 11th June is officially Ursa’s birthday. 🎉

Happy 3rd Birthday, Ursa. After everything you’ve been through, we’re so glad you’re home, safe, and loved. 🐾🧡

At the Sanctuary, we are home to Rhys & Ursa, our two rescued Eurasian lynxs’ & Blob, our rescued bobcat.

Did you know there are actually FOUR species of lynxs? The Eurasian lynx, the Iberian lynx, the Canadian lynx, and the bobcat! 🤔

We are currently building a brand new home at the Sanctuary for Ursa, Rhys, Blob & Boson (our rescued fishing cat) which will be completed by Big Cat Fest, our biggest annual fundraiser!
