Old Paludians Association Annual Reunion Saturday 16th July 2022
You are cordially invited to the 2022 Annual Reunion to be held on Saturday 16th JULY 2022 at Upton Court Grammar School, Lascelles Road, Slough SL3 7PR from 11am to 5pm. We hope you will be available on that date, that you will make a note in your diary to attend and that you will invite as many of your friends as possible. This will be a very special reunion. Not only has it been three difficult years since the last reunion in 2019 but it is also the 40th anniversary of the last year of Slough High School for Girls (1936-1982) and Slough Grammar School for Boys (1936-1982) and the subsequent reunification of the school the same year. We very much hope as many of you as are able will be able to attend and that you will spread the invitation.
The programme for the day will be:
• 11:00 Registration opens. Coffee and tea available all day
• 12:00 Annual General Meeting (AGM)
• 13:00 Full Traditional Afternoon Cream Tea
• 14:15 School Tours
• 15:00 Raffle Draw
• Depart at your leisure (doors close at 17.00)
This is a fantastic opportunity to meet friends and recount shared stories. The school has undergone a complete transformation in the last few years and this will be a great chance to see the improvements as well as old haunts – guided tours will be available. There will be a display of items from the archive, and in the computer room, members will be able to view the on-line archive, with assistance to help you find themselves in a long school photograph and to add names where appropriate. There will also be the formal AGM where you will hear about the ongoing work of the Old Paludians Association.

Please Share This Invitation
To encourage maximum attendance, we would appreciate it if you could share this invitation with any friends, peers, and teachers with whom you are still in touch. In a change from previous years and in order to make the event even more sociable, instead of lunch, a full traditional afternoon cream tea (at £13) will be served earlier over a longer period. You may opt to have only tea/coffee and biscuits for £3.00, if you so wish.
There will be a raffle with the draw to take place later in the afternoon. Donations of raffle prizes would be especially welcome.
The Association is currently still holding funds from those who paid for afternoon tea or for tea/coffee for the cancelled 2020 reunion. Those who have previously paid for afternoon tea or tea/coffee may opt to have their previous payments applied to the same this year. Those who are not attending may opt to have their money returned or treated as a donation to the Association – please see the reply form.
This is a very important AGM for the Old Paludians Association as we have many important matters to consider to ensure the longevity and future of the Association. We urge you attend if you possibly can and to encourage maximum attendance, we would appreciate it if you could share this invitation with any friends, peers, and teachers with whom you are still in touch.

Newsletter
The Annual Newsletter is published shortly before the Reunion. Members are invited to provide contributions in the form of stories or updates. Please e mail your news items and interesting stories for the 2022 edition to reach Glenys Laws, the Editor, at [email protected] not later than Friday 1st JULY 2022 (or post: to Editor, Old Paludians Association, c/o Upton Court Grammar School, Lascelles Road, Slough. Berkshire. SL3 7PR) We regret that items received after that date cannot be included.
Donations
Payments for the annual Reunion largely cover the cost of catering at the event. The Old Paludians Association is only able to keep going thanks to the generous support of our members. As always, we would be grateful to receive any contributions to help us maintain our community and continue to support the school. If you would like to donate, please use the reply form to do so. Your generous donations previously enabled us to run the Association and make donations to the school. Details of how 2019 donations were used may be found in previous editions of the Newsletter and on the website.
