Special Voices We are a support/information/signposting group for parent/carers in Slough of children/young people/adults with additional needs/SEND.

We are all volunteers working with you & other groups to provide you with the information you need, when you need it.

Officially carers week & volunteers week have now ended for another year, our last event was on Thursday. We always say our events were busy only this time it seemed like we needed a bigger venue 🤣😂Thank you to everyone that attended & of course all the volunteers, thank you 😊We had free gifts, lunch, scones with jam & cream, bingo with prizes(gifts) which was rather hectic & so much fun plus attendees were entered into a free draw for colour TV. We at Special Voices don’t wait for carers week each year as we hold events almost every week to celebrate parent/ carers & anyone that is a carer is always welcome 😊😊

We at Special Voices are busy celebrating all carers during this special carers week, in fact we do events all year round but never too busy to thank & celebrate our volunteers, that includes us as well. We are always in need of volunteers so if you want to make a difference & have some time to spare then just give us a call or pop in to one of our events to find out more😊Today we want to thank & celebrate one of our young people, Verity for her dedication to us as a volunteer, her smile can light the room 😊😊 like with all young people give them the opportunity & right support they can, & do learn new skills & an asset to Slough community. Let’s celebrate all the young volunteers from all the various organisations/group’s & services that are doing fantastic work for communities👏👏👏

Well, what a day!! our carers week events 1 & 2 merged into one, busy & hopefully all attendees felt welcomed & valued as carers within Slough & would like to thank them for braving the weather to come. First we would like to say a huge thank you to the Mayor, Councillor Rifaqat Zarai who came to meet us & spend time talking to most attendees despite the torrential downpours it didn't dampen the mood & carers were pleased to have met him.
It always goes without saying but we still like to thank all our volunteers as without them events that we hold would not be successful. There was just so much going on today we had free gifts on arrival, pass the parcel games with gifts, free M&S food, free clothes & bric - a - brac. The Danish pastries were going down a treat with carers relaxing over tea & coffee whilst chatting & feeding back on events, services & what's to come in Slough.
