For someone experiencing homelessness, these everyday essentials can make a real difference.
This World Homeless Day, we’re highlighting the support available at SHOC for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Slough.
Open six days a week, our day centre offers two hot meals a day, showers, clothes washing facilities and practical, personal support. We help Guests connect with health services and other local support, so they can take their next steps with someone alongside them.

Last week we had Haircuts for Homeless come to SHOC. These amazing people give haircuts to those who need it in a safe and calm environment . Thank you for coming down and making our guests smile with their lovely new haircuts.

We would like to give a big thank you to Slough Ghana SDA Church who provided lunch for our guests on Saturday and gave a donation of food and toiletries.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our 13-mile walk on Saturday — what an incredible effort from each and every one of you! 💛

Whether you laced up your shoes and walked the full distance or supported from afar with a donation, you’ve all made a real difference. Thanks to your kindness and generosity, we’ve raised vital funds for SHOC Slough Homeless Our Concern, helping to support those in need in our community.

Tomorrow we will once again be taking part in the Slough Town Supporters Trust End of Season Annual Walk.

This will be the 4th year that the trust have asked us to partner with them for this event which highlights the excellent partnership we are forging with the football club.

The format is similar to previous years with us meeting at the football stadium at 8.30 to leave at 9am, walking down to the Jubilee River along to Taplow Lake. Once there we have a brief break and walk the same route back, ending back at the stadium usually around 1pm. The total length of the walk is approximately 13 miles, it is a beautiful walk with most of it taking place alongside the Jubilee River.

We would welcome you taking part. It’s a fun day raising vital funds for SHOC.
