Could an outstanding Lincolnshire voluntary group deserve royal recognition?

Nominations are now open for the King’s Award for Voluntary Service 2027, the highest award given to local voluntary groups in the UK and equivalent to an MBE.

Lincolnshire is home to some incredible volunteer-led organisations making a real difference to people and communities every day. We’d love to see the very best of them recognised.

The Award celebrates exceptional groups where volunteers are firmly in the driving seat and whose work has a significant impact on their local community.

You might know a group that:

⭐ is led and driven by volunteers
⭐ goes above and beyond in what it delivers
⭐ makes an exceptional difference to its community
⭐ reaches vulnerable or marginalised people
⭐ demonstrates strong governance and high standards

Know a group that deserves recognition?

Nominations must be made by someone independent of the organisation who knows its work well, rather than a volunteer, employee or trustee of the group.

Nominations close 1 December 2026.

📢 Our Annual Review 2025/26 is here

It’s been a busy year at Lincolnshire Community Foundation, and our latest Annual Review is a chance to look back at what we’ve achieved together with communities, donors and partners across Greater Lincolnshire.

Over the year, we distributed £3.5 million, supported 368 projects and helped 7,794 people and households.

But, as always, the numbers only tell part of the story.

Our review shares some of the people, projects and organisations behind those figures, from creating opportunities for young people and tackling loneliness, to supporting people through financial hardship and investing in the places people call home.

It also looks at the changing needs across Greater Lincolnshire, the partnerships that make our work possible and how we’re working to make sure funding reaches the places where it can make the greatest difference.

A huge thank you to everyone who has worked with and supported us over the past year.

💚 Happy Lincolnshire Day

As we celebrate the County we’re proud to call home, today also marks a new chapter for the LCF team as we say goodbye to a much-valued colleague and welcome two new faces.

After four and a half years with LCF, we recently said a fond farewell to Hayley Crawford as she takes up a new opportunity with East Lindsey District Council.

During her time with the Foundation, Hayley played an important role within our Grants Team, helping to deliver key programmes including the Evan Cornish Grassroots Fund and East Lindsey Investment Fund. She built some fantastic relationships with organisations and communities across Lincolnshire and was, above all, a wonderful colleague. We’re very sorry to see her go, but wish her every success in her new role.

Following Hayley’s departure, we’re delighted to welcome Laura Baltulyte to the LCF family as our new Grantmaker. Laura will be working alongside the team to deliver a number of our funding programmes, including the new East Lindsey Community Legacy Scheme.

And today, on Lincolnshire Day itself, we’re also delighted to welcome Heather Arnatt as our new Chief Operating Officer and Deputy CEO. Heather joins us from CVS Lincolnshire, bringing extensive experience of working within Lincolnshire’s voluntary and community sector and a strong understanding of the organisations, partnerships and communities that make our county what it is.

Please join us in wishing Hayley all the very best for her next chapter and giving a very warm Lincolnshire welcome to Laura and Heather. 💚

We’re delighted to share that £19,858.71 has been awarded to seven organisations through the RWE Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm Community Fund, supporting projects in Anderby and the Bicker area.

From helping to keep activities affordable for young people, to bringing people together through music and creating new opportunities to get involved locally, this latest round is supporting a fantastic mix of community activity.

✨ A few of our Panel Picks include:

🎵 Anderby Rocks – £3,611.98 towards equipment for its annual community music festival, including lighting, coolers and card payment terminals.

⚜️ 7th Boston Scouts – £3,000 towards a year’s hall hire, helping the group keep weekly subs affordable for local families.

🥌 Bicker Village Hall – funding for curling equipment to help establish a new community group.

These are just three of the seven projects supported in this round, each helping to strengthen local activities, spaces and opportunities for people to come together.

Cavan from our Grants Team has been out and about in East Lindsey today to talk to groups about UKSPF and ELIF projects as well as the open round of the recently launched East Lindsey Community Legacy Scheme. Today, he's seen:

🏠🤝 Organisations delivering support for homeless people and providing accessible programmes for local community members in and around Manby

🌿🪻 A new community sensory garden in Manby Park funded through UKSPF GRASSroots ready for activity when the organisation moves to their new home later this year

🏛️🛠️ A village hall in Grimoldby which has benefitted from funding from both UKSPF and ELIF GRASSroots to purchase new tables and chairs, revitalise car parking facilities, clean their guttering, repoint their roof and redecorate the space.

🌳🦉 New community green space in Saltfleetby which recently received UKSPF GRASSroots funding to purchase new benches, source materials to create owl boxes and install site security cameras

We were delighted to go and view the Vessel Projects Re:Beaker exhibition this weekend which was funded in part through the ELIF GRASSroots Scheme.

Following the creation of over 700 objects inspired by Beaker Culture, which flourished in Lincolnshire roughly 4000 years ago, by children in school and community group participants in East Lindsey, the finished and fired beakers have become part of an exhibition that has been visiting a number of venues in the region - first at National Trust Sandilands and now the Church at Oxcombe Pottery.

We were delighted to be able to see the finished works on display with each Beaker signifying an engagement in arts and culture that may not have otherwise have occurred.
