Leasingham Village Hall Support Group This page has been created in order to try and get more members of the Leasingham Community involved

As and when there is need for Community assistance to help in the running/maintenance of Leasingham Village Hall, details of what is required (date/time/task+how long it is expected to take to complete) along with how many volunteers we would hope to get involved will be posted on this page. Anyone who feels that they could help with an identified task, and who will be available on the requisite date/times are invited to make a comment to confirm that they would like to help. Once their Comment has been received, they will receive a message confirming whether they are needed, or not, depending on the level of responses.

Ongoing Requirements:

Volunteer Treasurer - Urgent requirement for someone with some computer knowledge to take over from our existing Treasurer. A full handover will be provided by our existing Treasurer, who owing to increased work requirements, is keen to hand over the Treasurers Role.

Cleaner: Following the retirement through ill health of 1 of our long term cleaners, and the resignation after only a couple of weeks of our initial replacement, we are again seeking to employ a new cleaner. This is a paid job that involves general cleaning of the hall, normally in the morning before the first booking. For more information, please contact Matt via email: [email protected]

Pot Hole in Hall Carpark: If anyone in the village is having any tarmacking done in the near future, please be aware we are in urgent need of having a pot hole in the entrance way to the carpark repaired. We would therefore appreciate it if you could let me know if you are, so I can approach the contractor you are using to see if they can do the repair for us.

Monthly Table Top/Car Boot Sale: We are looking for help in the hall kitchen for our 1st Sunday of the month (Sep to Apr) Car Boot/Table Top Sales. Task is primarily serving hot drinks and food to customers, and washing up mugs and plates. We normally have a team of 3 people working in the Kitchen, so not a demanding task, and it represents a great opportunity for anyone new to the village to meet, and get to know other residents, and for those who have lived in the village for years, the chance to chat to old friends and make new ones. No commitment required, and full training provided, individuals who get back to me to express an interest, will simply be sent a list of Car Boot/Table Top Sale dates and asked to confirm their availability for these dates, and they will then be asked to help on one or more of the dates they are available.

General Help: If you have some spare time and would like to join the small friendly team who run the Village Hall, just let me know, and you will be invited to attend one of our first Monday of the month meetings, where you can meet the team, see what we do, and ask any questions you may have.

I am reactivating the Support Group, in the hope that this time we will get some volunteers step forward, as I simply gave up last time, after not a single person came forward to offer to help with any of the tasks we listed. Please help support the Village Hall if you can, it is an important social hub, used extensively by local groups, and we really do need some additional support to keep the hall running smoothly!

We are urgently looking to recruit a new member to the Village Halls Management Team. Our current Treasurer is having to stand down owing to work commitments, but is happy to do a slow handover to whoever takes on the role. Please email treasurer@leasinghamvillagehall for more information.

We are in urgent need of some new Volunteers to help with the running of Leasingham Village Hall, so if you are interested in getting involved, please let us know! In addition to general support, we are looking to recruit a new Treasurer, so if that is something you might be interested in doing, please call the Bookings Clerk on 07900 250098. Our existing Treasurer is happy to do a full handover, but personal circumstances prevent him from continuing in the role into the future.

Welcome to the Leasingham Village Hall Support Group Page. Membership is open to all, and we ask that anyone who is potentially willing and able to help out with the running of this important Community Asset follow this Group. If they do, they will get to see the occasional support requests posted by the Village Hall Committee, and have the opportunity to be able help with the running of the hall. The idea is to try and get more members of the Leasingham Community, particularly younger ones involved in the running of the hall, and to potentially identify a new generation of Volunteers who in time will be able to take over from the aging Volunteers who currently run it.
