News from the Belfry
“ Visitors to our Bell Tower.

Message received from Andy Hallam
Tower Captain, Thurlby St Firmins

We are a group of friends and bell ringers, who live on the Lincolnshire / Cambridgeshire borders and regularly ring together for practices and services. There are many Churches and too few ringers and it is not uncommon for us to ring at 3 towers for services on Sunday mornings. We arrange a tower tour every year and this year there were 16 of us who rang at 5 towers in total, starting at Branston, Potterhanworth and Dunston, calling in at Ruskington as our 4th tower at 15:45.

David made us all very welcome and everyone enjoyed our time at All Saints, indeed one of the ringers commented that the tenor was the nicest that she had rung.

Having ‘annoyed’ the local parishioners for 45 minutes with our ringing, we departed for Heydour, our final tower of the day.
“Congratulations to Louise Boulton, who has passed her Grade 1 bell ringing ( Controlling the bell ) in such a short time.

The Duck Hunt – Ruskington – 4th of May
As part of the Duck Hunt celebrations around Ruskington, organised by the Parish Council, All Saints offered the opportunity for the children to decorate a peg doll and to place it on a map of Ruskington where they lived (well approximately!). Many of our Messy church members took part in the craft but so too some new people who came to Messy Church the following week. Each doll was numbered and the children will be able to collect their doll from All Saints Church during the summer holidays. Thank you to everyone who joined in or helped. A big thank you to the parish council for the event.
