Skipton Rotary Volunteers fundraising to donate to charities & great causes both locally & internationally. 😊

Skipton is in North Yorkshire close to the border with Lancashire and is known as the 'Gateway to the Dales'. A lovely little market town famous for its' castle, canals, market stalls and the friendliness of the locals, we are situated on the fringe of The Yorkshire Dales National Park. There are many well-known places of interest close by and putting this whole package together the area attracts

many thousands of visitors each year and local tourism continues to grow. About us

Skipton Rotary was formed in 1930 and has a membership of over 40 men & women. New Members are always welcome, indeed essential, to maintain a thriving club. Putting it simply, Rotarians are volunteers, trying to do good in the community, whether locally or abroad, and proud to be of service. Locally we are involved with community and environmental projects around 'Craven' and give grants to deserving young people, local charities, clubs & organisations. Rotary is also a Global Organisation with perhaps the largest charitable status 'out there' and helps throughout the World wherever needs exist and help is required.

Join us for an egg-citing day at Skipton’s Easter Event on Saturday, 19th April 2025 at Skipton Canal Basin, from 10 AM – 3:30 PM! 🎉
All activities are completely FREE!

🐣 What’s on?

🐑 Petting Zoo with Riggmoor Reindeer & Mobile Petting Farm – Get up close and cuddle adorable farm animals, including fluffy sheep, ponies, and friendly goats. A perfect hands-on experience for all ages! There will also be some smaller animals but these are just to view.

🎪 Circus Skills & Workshops with Skipton Circus Skills – Ever wanted to juggle, spin plates, or try stilts? Now’s your chance! Join our interactive workshops and learn from expert entertainers.

🕯️ Beeswax Candle Making & Easter Decorations with Herd & Hive – Let your creativity shine! Craft your own beeswax candles and design beautiful Easter decorations to take home.

🤝 Community Groups – Meet local organisations and discover amazing opportunities in Skipton. A great chance to connect and get involved! We will be joined by Skipton Rotary, Skipton Army Cadets, Canal & River Trust, Skipton Rugby Club, and Skipton Youth Council.

🍔 Affordable Food & Drink – Enjoy delicious, budget-friendly food and refreshments, perfect for the whole family! We will be joined by Sabden Smash, Some Delish, Treats by Steph, and Yorkshire Dales Ice Cream.

🐰Don't forget about Skipton BID's giant Easter Egg trail around our lovely town.

Great News ✨

Last month, Skipton Rotary had the pleasure of welcoming Foundation Craven for an insightful presentation about their incredible work supporting those at risk of homelessness.

At the meeting, a £1000 donation was presented to the charity, chosen by President Judy Hazlehurst as her Charity of the Year.

This follows a generous £1000 donation to Skipton Rotary from our friends at Rotary Club of Wormerveer-Krommenie in the Netherlands during their exchange visit last summer, specifically given to support Foundation Craven.

Foundation Craven provides vital accommodation, advice, and support services to help people rebuild their lives. President Judy says “Being homeless must be a truly awful experience for anyone, and if Skipton Rotary can help in any way, we will.”
