Our Story
For Those Who Don't Know
Skipton is in North Yorkshire close to the border with Lancashire and is known as the 'Gateway to the Dales'. A lovely little market town famous for it’s castle, canals, market stalls and the friendliness of the locals, we are situated on the fringe of The Yorkshire Dales National Park. There are many well-known places of interest close by and putting this whole package together the area attracts many thousands of visitors each year and local tourism continues to grow.
About us
The Rotary Club of Skipton has existed since 1930 and has a membership of 40 men & women. New Members are always welcome, indeed essential, to maintain a thriving club. Putting it simply, Rotarians are volunteers, trying to do good in the community, whether locally or abroad, and proud to be of service. Locally we are involved with community and environmental projects around 'Craven' and give grants to deserving young people, local charities, clubs & organisations.
However, Rotary is also a Global Organisation with perhaps the largest charitable status 'out there' and helps throughout the World wherever needs exist and help is required.
