Good things happening at the Ecumenical Centre - open to all

☕️☕️🍪🍪. Starting tomorrow and then every Thursday at The Eccy from 12pm till 3pm 🍪🍪☕️☕️

Also for the summer holidays we will be running a uniform repair shop .

So if you have any damaged blazers , jumpers , skirts , shirts , pants etc … bring them down for a repair and we can hopefully save you a few quid before the start of the new school year .

The Crisis and Resilience Fund is now open for applications.

If you’re on a low income and facing an urgent financial crisis, you may be able to get short‑term support with essential costs or rent by applying for help from The Crisis and Resilience Fund from the UK Government.

✅Crisis payments - emergency essentials such as food, energy and household goods.
✅Housing payments - temporary help with rent where benefits do not cover the full cost and a tenancy is at risk.
✅Financial support services - access to advice and wider support to help reduce future financial hardship.

'Small Charity Week' (22-29 June)

West Lancashire Charity celebrates over 25 years of success

This Small Charity Week (22-29 June) South West Lancashire ICAN is proud to be part of a national celebration of the vital role small charities play in the communities across the UK.

This year's campaign, Small charities. Big Impact, really shines a light on the work we do as a small independent charity based in West Lancashire.

In 2025 we supported over 1 thousand clients and successfully achieved over £3million for them via welfare rights, debt reduction and other financial benefit support.

We have been based in Skelmersdale for over 25 years and have outreach surgeries in Ormskirk, Burscough,Tarleton and Parbold. For clients who may be housebound or have complex health issues we can also provide home visits.

Paul McConnell, Chair of SWLICAN said " Small charities are part of our communities. Every day we see the difference that local trusted support can make to people's lives, Small Charity Week is a chance to recognise that impact and to make sure the voices of small charities and the communities we support are seen and heard".
