MINISTRY CONSTITUTION
THE PLAN
To organise a charity event for the purpose of raising funds to provide electric power to a rural African village, (Ilewo Alaga) which hitherto has seemingly remained in the dark. THE PURPOSE
To reflect our God-given light to others. To demonstrate and relate God as the source of light to a community that is in need of light. To comfort others
with the comfort we ourselves have been comforted. To demonstrate our faith by our commitments to communities globally. To demonstrate the relevance of the Gospel in the world we live in. To empower the young people of Ilewo to a more economically productive life through the possibilities electricity affords. To enable the people be more environment friendly, reduce smoke pollution and hazards. THE PURSUIT
To launch a charity activity of growing both my hair and beard for 8 weeks. To seek sponsorship among my colleagues and staff. To involve the wider public especially among my patients. To attend various churches for sponsorship. To advertise our plans on face book and twitter. To spread the news of the project by the word of mouth and leaflets. THE PROJECT
Ilewo Alaga is a rural village in the western region of Nigeria. The village consists of about 38 households, each with an average of 10 people living in. Most of the neighbouring villages have electric supply and as such the darkness in Ilewo Alaga has understandably been a sore point for the people of the village over the years. About a year ago, efforts were made to address this issue by the people of the community. The first phase, which involved purchasing and erecting poles cost about £8,000. Unfortunately, the project could not be completed due to paucity of funds. An additional £20,000 will be required for transformer, insulating materials and electric cables in order tocompiete the project. Presently, what is on ground in the village are erected poles which often remind the people of their unmet desires and aspirations! The desire to assist my people in making the dream of having electric power in their homes has brought me to initiate this plan. The beauty of this initiative is that many of us are being given the opportunity to share the joy of lighting up the darkness in Ilewo Alaga. I imagine the thanks giving that will be raised on behalf of many at what your generosity will achieve for these dear people.
