What a busy and fun day in the shop today!

Word is most certainly out, and the Doodle Cube is making quite an impact.

Brodie, his sister and grandparents spent nearly an hour with us, all happily colouring away, while Nanna Doreen, Mum Tracy, and girls Lily and Taylor must have spent a good couple of hours getting thoroughly stuck in.

Flora and Barnaby also popped in to add their artistic touches, and it’s been lovely to see people writing their own messages and reflections too.

A huge thank you to everyone who has called in today. Seeing the community come together, get creative, and be part of the project is exactly what it’s all about.

We can’t wait to see the cube continue to grow over the coming weeks!

Although at this rate, we may need a second cube before the first one runs out of space Steve Andrews 🤭

As we mentioned earlier in the year, we've started our programme of maintenance on the very first six poppy nets we created back in 2024.

The first refurbished net is now finished and looking fantastic, and we're already well underway with number two!

Now for the important bit... we need more poppies PLEASE! 🌺

The first nets we made weren't quite as densely packed as the last five that went on High Altitude, so as we refurbish them we're giving them a bit of extra love and adding even more poppies to create an even bigger visual impact.

We've had some amazing donations from our wonderful band of knitters and crocheters (you know who you are!), but our poppy reserves are starting to look a little depleted. So if you have needles, hooks, spare time, or simply a desire to keep us supplied with glorious red poppies, we'd love your help.

The good news is that we'll have some wool available on Friday for anyone willing to get involved.

This has been very kindly donated by Newton Newton Flags Ltd who traded some flags for balls of red wool – proof that not all great trades happen on the stock market.

So, whether you're a knitting ninja, a crochet champion, or fancy learning a new skill, we'd love to hear from you. Every poppy helps bring these special nets back to life.

You will also be doing a public service in keeping the Royal Anglian, The 2 Para, the Fusilier, the RAF and the Drop Short out of mischief by keeping them busy on the nets (photo proof below of what happens when their hands are idle...)😉🤣😘

Thank you, as always, for your incredible support. ❤️🌺🧶

Shop is open Friday and Saturday 9am - 3pm Hildreds Centre
