Silloth Events – We Need Your Support
Over the years Silloth has hosted many fantastic events that have brought the community together and attracted thousands of visitors to our town.
Unfortunately we are now at a point where some of these much loved events may disappear due to a lack of support.
Most of these events are organised and run by a very small group of dedicated volunteers. Many of these individuals help across several different events each year, which is simply not sustainable in the long term.
Over time we have also seen many valued volunteers step away for a variety of reasons. One reason that is particularly disheartening, and entirely avoidable, is the criticism and negativity directed at those who give their time to make these events happen. Sadly this often comes from people who do not get involved or offer help themselves.
To keep these events alive we are looking for more volunteers who are willing to help with organising, administration and support on the day. Even a small amount of time can make a big difference.
Silloth’s events attract tens of thousands of people every year and are a fantastic social occasion for the whole community. With your help we can ensure they continue for many years to come.
Without additional support some of our annual events, including Silloth Carnival, Silloth Pride and Silloth Green Day, may no longer be able to continue.
We ask everyone to take a positive approach, support our events where possible and show appreciation to the volunteers who work hard to make them happen.
