WHAT WE DO

Rehoming With Peace of Mind

All of our animals are health checked by our vet, neutered/spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. When you adopt from The Cat & Rabbit Rescue Centre we always guarantee that the animal can be returned to us no matter what the circumstances for the rest of their lives. We pride ourselves on rehoming and finding the right match for the animal and the adopter. We check the suitability of all adopters' homes and carry out post home visits. Our Foster Care Scheme

Any animal that we rehome that has been diagnosed with an ongoing medical condition and which cannot be insured against can be supported by the use of our Foster Care Scheme. Our Bonding Services

All of our rabbits and guinea pigs are rehomed in pairs and we provide a professional and very successful bonding service when you adopt from us. Our Neutering Services

Neutering is crucial to help reduce the amount of unwanted and homeless animals. The Cat & Rabbit Rescue Centre operates a neuter scheme in conjunction with many local veterinary practices to help assist you financially. Our Mothers & Kittens

We have a designated Mother and Baby Unit which provides the most vulnerable animals with the care that they need. We have hand-reared thousands of kittens including round-the-clock feeding and provide foster homes where necessary. Our Feral Cats & Communities Activities

We have significantly reduced the number of feral colonies in the last 30+ years in the West Sussex and Hampshire areas. We are highly skilled in trapping and rehoming feral cats into suitable homes.

We are incredibly excited and grateful to share that, thanks to the amazing generosity of our donor David, The Centre has been kindly gifted an ultrasound machine for our on-site veterinary team 💚

This wonderful piece of equipment will make such a huge difference to the animals in our care. Being able to carry out ultrasounds on site means our vet can quickly assess and monitor a variety of conditions without the added stress of travelling animals elsewhere. It can be used for pregnancy checks, examining internal organs, diagnosing illnesses, and helping us provide faster and more effective treatment for the animals who need us most.

Our first patient was Amber, she arrived with us as a stray and was found to be pregnant. Thankfully, her ultrasound showed that everything was looking healthy and well. In the video, you can even see the tiny heartbeat of one of her kittens 😍

We are delighted to share that Amber safely gave birth to five beautiful kittens over the weekend. The video shows just how happy and content she is with her new little family 😘

Thank you so much, David, for your kindness. Without this donation, there would be no way we would ordinarily be able to afford this piece of equipment. Donations like this truly help us give the animals in our care the very best chance and make such a lasting difference to their lives 💕

Happy from Arlo 💚

Arlo is a very handsome boy who is searching for his perfect forever home 😍

This is sadly Arlo’s second time with us after first arriving at CRRC as a kitten in 2019. He was recently returned through no fault of his own when his owner was no longer able to keep him.

Although Arlo can be a little shy when you first meet him, it doesn’t take long for his sweet personality to shine through. He loves strokes and fuss and enjoys spending time with people, though he can let you know when he has had enough attention!

At 7 years old, Arlo would love a calm home where he can be the only pet, with older or no children. He is a very homely boy who enjoys his comforts, although he does occasionally like to bring home a little “present” from his adventures outdoors.

Find out more about Arlo by visiting our website - https://crrc.co.uk/animals/arlo/

Happy Wilson and Betty 💚

Wilson and Betty arrived at CRRC in April 2025 after the sad passing of their owner. Before coming into our care, they had been living outside, so adjusting to a new environment was incredibly difficult for them. Both were very nervous and it took a long time for them to begin trusting people again. Slowly but surely, they started to accept gentle strokes, and eventually we were rewarded with the sweetest little purrs.

We always knew that, given the chance, Wilson and Betty would truly blossom in a loving home. However, with their shy nature and being 9 years old, it took a little longer to find the right match. After almost a year with us, we are so happy to share that Wilson and Betty finally found their forever home with Fiona and Jeanne. 🏡

A month after settling into their new home, we received a lovely update and were delighted to hear they are doing so well. Stories like theirs remind us why every animal deserves patience, love, and a second chance.

"We just wanted to send you an update on Wilson and Betty!

Bearing in mind they had been in your shelter for a year, we knew this was going to be a long process!

Wilson is quite protective of Betty and they have their hides spots during the day. They have been wondering around during the night when it is all quiet and getting their bearings! Wilson is the brave one and is starting to come down of an evening for strokes! They are both very affectionate and we have had lots of purrs… just waiting on them being a bit braver, but little steps, and we are pleased with their progress! Hopefully soon, they can start to go outside and explore the countryside! We will update you again soon!"

Congratulations Wilson and Betty 🥰

Can you help us make a difference? We need your support with our Raffle and Auction💚

Our Summer Fayre on August 9th is our biggest fundraising event of the year, and it’s absolutely vital in helping us continue caring for the animals who depend on us.

This year alone, over 250 animals have already come into our care. Last year, that number reached more than 700! Every single one needed safety, shelter, medical care, and love, and we were there because of your support 🥰

We’re currently looking for generous donations for our auction and raffle to help make this event a success. We would be incredibly grateful for:
✨ Gift vouchers (especially for experiences or overnight stays)
✨ New, unused items
✨ Services or unique experiences

These donations don’t just raise funds, they directly help us feed, care for, and rehome animals who have nowhere else to turn.

👉 If you can help, or know someone who might — please tag them below!
📩 Or get in touch with us directly at [email protected]

Together, we can make sure we’re here for all the animals that need us 😘 Photo is of our little Coin!

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the loss of one of our beloved resident cats, Markus 💔

Markus came to The Centre in 2016 after living life as a stray. In his early days with us, when he was in a pen, he was one of the angriest and scariest cats you could meet. But underneath that tough exterior was a frightened boy who just needed time, space, and understanding 😘

Having spent much of his life feral, we made the decision to let him live freely on site. Over time, he began to trust, slowly adjusting to his new surroundings and learning that people could be kind. Watching him flourish was something truly special 😍

As the years passed, Markus grew more affectionate and even started to enjoy a gentle fuss from the team. He formed a particularly strong bond with our Animal Care Manager, Claire, so much so that her office became his home. Whether he was curled up in her office, following Claire around The Centre, or off on one of his little adventures, Markus was always exactly where he wanted to be!

He wasn’t just a cat who lived here, Markus was part of The Centre and he was so loved 💔

In recent years, Markus faced ongoing medical challenges and required regular medication. Sadly, last week it all became too much for him, and after more than 9 wonderful years with us, it was time to say goodbye 😢

He will be deeply missed by everyone here, especially Claire. The Centre simply isn’t the same without him.

Run free, Markus 🐾

Happy from Barbie & Kenni 💚

These two lovely ladies are looking for a special new home together. Barbie is 7 years old and Kenni is 5, and they share a beautiful bond

Barbie and Kenni are affectionate, gentle girls who love nothing more than spending their days snuggled up side by side. They are very loving and enjoy plenty of fuss and attention 😘

They are looking for a quiet home with access to both indoors and outdoors, ideally with a secure garden where they can safely explore. Barbie and Kenni are known for being homely girls, but they do enjoy the occasional overnight wander, so they would need to be kept indoors at night and away from busy roads.

These girls could live with dogs, cats, and young children, making them a great fit for many family set-ups. Sadly, Barbie and Kenni have now been returned to us twice due to allergies in the home, so we are hoping to find them a forever family who are experienced with long-haired cats, or who know they do not have allergies to long-haired cats 😺

Could you offer these beautiful girls their happy ending? Visit our website to find out more - https://crrc.co.uk/animals/barbie-kenni/

Update on Milo 💚

A few weeks ago we introduced you to Milo the little kitten who was brought to us at only two days old. When he arrived, he was freezing cold, lethargic, and desperately hungry. He was so weak that the person who found him thought he had already passed away 🙀

Since our last update, Milo has had a few bumps along the way, including some constipation and a minor infection, but we’re so pleased to share that he is doing well and continuing to grow stronger each day 💪

One of the biggest milestones has been his feeding. Milo was never the best at bottle-feeding, but he has now started eating a special milky food paste, which is making a huge difference and is really helping him gain weight and thrive.

He is still being cared for around the clock by our dedicated animal care team, as hand-rearing kittens remains delicate work. But despite everything, Milo is becoming more playful and full of personality 🐾

It’s amazing to see how far he’s come from the tiny, fragile kitten who arrived in such a critical state. While he still has some growing to do, we couldn’t be prouder of his progress.

Thank you so much for all your continued support and kind wishes for Milo 🥰
