Dear friends,
Tomorrow we remember our dear colleague Kim Speed of Castle Hedingham.

Kim joined the village shop, as a volunteer, from our beginnings.

Kim was instrumental in leading our local effort to support the people of Ukraine, when the war broke.

Our cellar became a huge store, organised by Kim, collecting the requested essential items to help those impacted by the war in Ukraine.

Kim organised the transport and visited the depot to ensure our collection was safely delivered and sorted before it was shipped to Ukraine.

Our volunteers remember Kim with huge affection. As a mark of respect and with many volunteers attending Kim's funeral we are closing Castle Hedingham Village Shop on Thursday afternoon.

As normality creeps in after the festivities that is Christmas and New Year, everyone at the Village Shop and Post Office would like to say a huge thanks to everyone that has continued to support our busy little community.. we thank you all. Wishes to all for the New Year and love to those who have their own challenges. For the friends we have lost may they rest in peace.

Just to let customers of the village Shop know that we’ve had issues with the newspapers this morning as the van has had a puncture and is having to do a double run. Please let us know that if our papers do arrive, you would still like to keep your order. Many thanks.

Good morning everyone just to let you know the post office will be closed today. I have an engineer that is updating the equipment. I will be opening tomorrow from 9 till 12 if anybody needs any thing desperately.

Our window is looking super fabulous for autumn. Cosy autumn and Christmas stock is currently being unpacked. The community allotment is harvesting daily produce and available at the Village Shop. Don't forget daily fresh bread and pastries, groceries, cards and gifts. Our Post Office services are available 9am - 1pm on Monday to Friday. Our truly wonderful volunteers are on hand to support you with your daily shopping and a catch-up with village news. We are doggy friendly.
