The village Christmas tree is now LIVE!

Funded by our centenary events and the generous donations of our villagers, we have funded a live Christmas tree for the Shrivenham Memorial Hall lawn.

Thank you to everyone who attended our events and donated to our Centenary Fund. Thanks also to the Shrivenham Fete Committee who partnered with us on the planting and decorating of this beautiful tree!

✨ Exciting News for the Shrivenham Memorial Hall! ✨

We are delighted to announce that the Hall has now been granted an official licence for civil wedding ceremonies. 🎉💍🪢❤️

While the Hall has already hosted many wonderful wedding receptions, couples can now hold their entire day under one roof, from the ceremony itself to the celebration afterwards, right in the heart of the village.

Full details will be available on our website shortly. In the meantime, don’t forget the Hall is also available for a wide range of events, including birthdays, anniversaries and community celebrations. 🥳

We're one week into our campaign to mark 100 years of Shrivenham Memorial Hall and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who’s supported us so far.

We’ve raised £80 in our first week, and every pound makes a difference as we work towards a fitting celebration of the Hall’s centenary and its place at the heart of our community.

The campaign is still open, and any contribution - big or small - helps us move closer to our goals: whether that’s creating a small memorial garden, refreshing the hall, or helping the next generation make their own memories here.

🎉 Help Us Make Memories – and a Hall to Be Proud Of! 🎉

This year Shrivenham Memorial Hall turns 100 – a century of serving our village through events, sports, celebrations, and everyday community life.

To mark this milestone, we’re raising funds for some special centenary touches, like:
💛 Mementos for local schoolchildren
🌿 A new memorial garden
🎭 Prizes for the local fete
…and a few hall improvements and decorations to help make the space even more welcoming for future generations.

We know there are many wonderful causes being supported in the village right now, and not everyone is in a position to give to all of them. If you’re able to spare a donation - even a small one - it will go directly towards making our centenary meaningful and improving this much-loved space for years to come.

We are a registered charity, responsible for the care and upkeep of the 100-year-old Shrivenham Memorial Hall and Recreation Grounds, along with newer Sports Pavilion.
