Blossom Barns had another fantastic year at the Burwarton Show!

In the run-up to the show, everyone plays a part in getting the stand ready. This year’s preparations focused strongly on woodwork creations, including cow planters, which proved especially popular on the day!

The achievement was especially meaningful after a challenging year for the farming community, with repeated heatwaves and a lack of rain affecting growing conditions.

We'd like to send a huge thank you to the team at Blossom Barns for all their hard work, the Burwarton Show Committee for their continued support and Lidl in Shrewsbury who kindly donated some cut flowers for arrangements following some last minute issues with some of our flowers!

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the devastating wildfires seen across the country, including those locally in the West Midlands.

We commend the efforts of the local Emergency Services responding to these events. We encourage everyone to follow the guidance given to help keep each other safe and enable to Fire Service to effectively respond to the ongoing incidents.

The Big Conversation on Care: Have your say!

As a part of the Casey Commission, which is reviewing social care and considering how it should change to better meet the needs of people now and in the future, views are being gathered from the public on how they think social care should work.

Social care impacts everyone, so it is important a range of views are gathered to help make informed recommendations for changes.

The Commission will be working with their independent partner (Ipsos) to gather views from people with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and communities.

You can also get involved with the conversation online by contributing to their online conversation platform.
