There were lots of smiles, little legs and plenty of fun as our Young Parents Group took part in the Barnardo's Big Toddle recently!

The group enjoyed a walk to the park before returning for a picnic lunch together, giving everyone the chance to enjoy some fresh air, play and good company.

A big thank you to Codie from Youth Connect, who came along to provide face painting and added an extra splash of colour to a fantastic day.

Here are some of the highlights!

Refugee Week takes place from 15-21 June, and this year’s theme is Courage.

To mark the week, Shropshire Supports Refugees is inviting people to write an anonymous letter to someone seeking sanctuary in Shropshire.

Your letter could share what courage means to you, or offer a message of kindness, hope, solidarity and welcome to someone rebuilding their life in our community.

A few thoughtful words can mean a great deal.

The Government's proposed social media ban for under-16s has sparked plenty of debate.

At All About Youth, we see both sides.

A few years ago, during a conversation with a group of young people, one young person described social media as bringing them both the most happiness and the most unhappiness in their life.

That simple comment captures the challenge perfectly.

Social media can help young people connect, learn, create and find support. But it can also expose them to harmful content, unrealistic expectations and online pressures.

Whatever your view on the proposed ban, one thing is clear: young people need support, guidance and safe spaces - both online and offline.

What are your thoughts on the proposed changes?

What does youth work look like?

Sometimes it's a busy youth club in a community centre.
Sometimes it's a session in a church hall.
Sometimes it's in a brand-new community building.

And sometimes it's simply a conversation, a game and a shared laugh in the local park.

Great youth work isn't defined by four walls - it's about creating safe, supportive spaces where young people can connect, grow in confidence and know that someone is there for them.

Because wherever young people are, youth work can happen.

Young people at Anstice Youth Club in Madeley have been getting creative as part of the fantastic Art 4 All project.

Inspired by the life and work of Vern Stokes, organiser of Royal Family state events, they have produced some incredible pieces of artwork that showcase their imagination, talent and creativity.

We're so proud of what they've created and excited that their work will form part of a special exhibition for Vern to see during his visit to Telford.

Well done to everyone who took part - we think you'll agree the results are amazing!

What inspires someone to volunteer at a youth club?

For one volunteer at All About Youth, it's simple:

"Nothing makes me happier than supporting people to grow - whether that's helping them develop a new skill, encouraging them to achieve something they didn't think was possible, or simply being there to cheer them on."

As part of , we're celebrating the incredible volunteers who give their time, energy and enthusiasm to support young people across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.

Their contribution helps create safe spaces, build confidence, and open up opportunities for young people every day.

If you've ever thought about volunteering, why not find out more about how you can get involved? We'd love to hear from you.
