On Tuesday 21st October we welcome textile artist and designer Julia Gahagan as our evening speaker whose talk is entitled "Small scale Quilts, quick,easy and fun ". Her designs are inspired by her travels and capture so much detail on a small scale.
On Wednesday 22nd October there is an opportunity to create one yourself as Julia is teaching a workshop which would suit a beginner or the more advanced stitcher.
Talk is at Mereside Community Hall, fees £10 for visitors and Workshop is at Bayston Hill Methodist Hall, fees are £60 for non-members.

Spellbound

This quilt features 9 unique blocks, 14 inches square. Blocks like the Wise Owl, Crow, Moonlit Bat and Spiderweb include Dresden Plate design and are just a few of the charming blocks in this adorable sampler. Week one, you will receive the Spellbound pattern book with the setting kit including background, border and binding fabric and fabric for the first block.

The block fabric (except for the background) will be provided each week free of charge, as long as you complete the previous weeks block and bring it to the store for us to see when you pick up your kit for the next block. If you do not complete the previous week's block then the next week's kit is $2.00. The setting kit with pattern book and fabric for binding, borders and background of blocks is $62.00 and is due at the time of registration

Due to Covid 19 restrictions, we are offering the sampler event as an online video, available each Monday via Facebook. The video is designed to introduce to you the next block as well as give you instruction, tips and recommendations for tools to assist you in piecing your blocks and borders. You will be able to watch the video from the comfort and safety of you own home.

To discourage a one day large gathering, previous week's blocks may be presented to the shop and kits picked up throughout the week.

What a wonderful start to our 2025-26 year !
Nicola Dodd, one of our long-standing members and owner of led us through her world of quilt pattern designing describing how she developed her style through historical patchwork and quilting, the natural world and artistic influences.
She shared her hints on colour, fabric selection and
co-ordination with a stunning display of her work.
Great food for thought- we're inspired to get sewing!
