Cub winter camp finished this afternoon and we've had quite an adventure. This morning (after packing a.k.a. trying to reunite kit with owners) we walked down the valley into Hebden Bridge, mingling with the locals and tourists and doing a bit of shopping mostly at Something Sweet . Luckily Ed came to pick us up in the minibus so we didn't have to walk all the way back. Ten of the 17 cubs then collected their badge for their first overnight scout experience. We learned lots about ourselves and each other. Looking forward to next time.

With the new year I thought it time we gave you a flavour of the breadth of activities which go on in our group.

A team of 4 have been helping maintain our outdoor space as part of their Bronze D of E programme, and on Saturday this involved painting the garage. Luckily before the snow fell.

Last night Thursday Cubs started on their personal safety and air activities badge with a packed programme as ever. As well as much needed energetic team games as schools have been closed, we looked at how we relax, and how we seek help (Personal Safety) and how to spell our names using the phonetic (radio) alphabet. We also talked about how things fly, and how a wing works.
