Safe Spaces launched their Pocketful of Hope campaign recently, sharing messages of hope for anyone feeling overwhelmed right now and helping raise awareness that support is available for people in crisis. 💌

They invited the public to contribute their own messages of hope, and these have now been gathered into an online gallery. Thank you to everyone who contributed 🫶

You can explore it whenever you need a moment of kindness or calm.

Local spaces can still get involved in the campaign by requesting some small pocket-sized cards - email [email protected]

Joel was struggling with severe mental illness alongside physical health issues. As a full-time carer he was impacted by lack of sleep leading him to feel unable to cope and suicidal.

With patience and understanding our Support Worker was able to help Joel by signposting him to a carers support group, creative workshop, autism support group and a drop-in tea and chat to support opportunities to socialise outside of home to improve his and .

Joel benefited from having someone neutral to talk to who was compassionate and understanding and now feels happier and more in control of his life.

What’s something that’s helped you get through a difficult day?

It could be a sentence, just a few kind words or something someone once said to you that made a real difference.

Safe Spaces invite you to share a message of hope as part their ‘pocketful of hope’ campaign – aiming to raise awareness of support available for people in emotional distress.

It only takes a few minutes, will be shared anonymously and will feature in an online gallery, creating a human chain of support. Add yours at: tinyurl.com/pocketfulofhope

You might start spotting these in everyday places across the community. 💌

If you do, feel free to take one, keep it with you, or share it with someone else. You might not need it today, but it’s there for whenever things feel too much.

Each card carries a short message of hope on the front, with information about Safe Spaces on the back.

Safe Spaces is a crisis support service for people across Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven.

It’s a reminder that support is there, even in quieter moments when things start to feel a bit much. Take it, keep it, or pass it on. Just in case. 💙

I’m walking the Coast to Coast in May 2027 to raise money for The Cellar Trust, a mental health charity here in Shipley that supports people who are struggling, overwhelmed or living with hidden disabilities and long term conditions. Walking has helped my own mental health more than I ever expected, and this challenge is my way of giving something back and helping others who feel the same battles I’ve faced.

If you would like to support the journey, donate or simply share the page, it would mean a lot. And if you can’t donate, please don’t worry at all, even sharing the link helps more than you realise and means just as much to me.

The fundraising link is in the comments.

Thank you for being part of this.
