What is SHERWOOD SPONSORS REFUGEES?

We are a community group who are getting together to sponsor a refugee family to settle in the UK under the community sponsorship scheme. We are committed to finding accommodation and resources so we can support a family until they are settled. Once we have all the resources lined up, we make an application to the Home Office. Once they have approved the application, they work with the United Nations to identify a family in a refugee camp matched to the accommodation. They are admitted directly and given refugee status in the UK. We then support them for up to two years.
