It is with great sadness and regret that we have been left with no choice but to close the independent monthly market in Shepton Mallet since we do not have enough funds to cover our costs going forward. Therefore, there will be no market this Sunday 27th August onwards.

We would like to thank all those who attended the market and enjoyed what was on offer. Thank you also to the talented local musicians, etc for coming along to entertain everyone. Our stewards – Janet who not only came out early to help with set up but also traded all day and then helped at the end with closedown, also our very good friends Andy & Sarah who stepped in when no one else was available, this went above and beyond a usual friendship. Thank you also goes to our advisers/supporters who remained in the background. To all our wonderful traders, we give you a huge thank you for attending each month, wind, rain, or shine. It has been emotional reading all your very kind replies to the notification of the market closure, and we look forward to seeing you at another market/event somewhere and wish you all every success with your businesses.
