Southern Electric Group Two of our 5 Cor coaches are based at the East Kent Railway. With seats you can really relax into! No ‘ironing boards’ here!

The premier organisation for enthusiasts, historians, modellers and preservationists of the Southern Electric system in Southern England and the owners of the 4Cor Electric Multiple Unit 3142 / 3135. To find out when there is a chance to experience a ride please enquire of the East Kent Railway for days when it will be running. Formed in May 1970 the Southern Electric group are a non-profit making

organisation for enthusiasts, historians, modelers and preservationists of the largest electric railway system in the world. It is considered to be an authoritative source of information on the whole of the Southern Electric network. The group magazine Live Rail is published Bi Monthly & at 40 odd pages contains topical items on railway operation as well as modelling news The group also has in preservation the only complete, privately owned, express electric multiple unit train in the UK 4Cor unit, number 3142 2 coaches of which are based at the East Kent Railway. Our correspondent captured Brighton Belle driving motor coach 293/Car No 93 Celia from unit 3053 emerging from Eastleigh Works after repainting. It was was towed to Stewarts Lane via Acton by Pullman liveried 67024 on 22 April. . It is seen passing Eastleigh station at 13:31
