Together with Shefford Greenspace Conservation Group and Shefford History Group we have created 2 trails for you to enjoy.
One with a nature focus around Millennium Green and one with a history focus around the High Street from The Bridge and across the bridges on Northbridge and Southbridge Street.
We hope you enjoy them.

Switching off your lights for one hour at 8:30pm to show small actions can make a big impact when we all take them.

Quick reminder about our litter pick tomorrow.
Come along anytime from 10-11:30am.
In small groups, you will be given a short briefing before heading off for a stroll around Shefford to pick up any litter you find.

As part of the we were at the library this morning setting up a scavenger hunt all about how long items take to degrade if not disposed of properly. It will be up all week so pop in and ask for a sheet.
Next Saturday, we'd love you to come along for a stroll around Shefford with family, friends or to meet like-minded local residents and help to keep our streets and green spaces tidy.

Meet at Pamoli Square anytime from 10am - 11:30am. All equipment will be provided but please return by midday.

Each group will be given a short briefing and then asked to follow a route and collect any litter you see along the way.

Lots going on this week!

Tuesday (tonight) - Sustainable sewing sessions at Shefford Community Hall from 7-9pm. Bring along your machine and I'll bring the fabric.

Wednesday - I'll be attending the Shefford Community Festival meeting at Morrisons from 7pm. If you have ideas or experience in running a community event it would be great to see you there.

Thursday - Our monthly People Planet Pint from 8pm at The Brewery Tap. Come along to talk about anything and everything environmental or sustainable. The kit from Shefford Party Kit Hire is being used at a party this weekend. If you have a party, family gathering etc coming up then consider hiring the kit to save on the waste of disposables.

There's also some planning meetings happening for our next craft event at the library (which will also involve a scavenger hunt and prize!), litter picking events to support Keep Britain Tidy's Great Big Spring Clean, a Shefford trail map in conjunction with Shefford Greenspace & Shefford History Group that should help keep little ones busy during the Easter holidays and our third annual Green Fair (save the date Saturday 20 June)

Had a great time at Shefford library this morning making lots of green hearts and talking about what we love about the outdoors.
Keep a look out for a 💚 display in the library coming soon.

I shall be in the library tomorrow helping to create green hearts to show what we love about nature and living in Shefford.
Pop in between 10-12 to join in.
We'll also have the craft swap set up so come and browse what we have 😊

At the heart of progress is everyday care, shown locally 💚

Across the UK, people are making green hearts together in community spaces, bringing neighbours together, and combining crafting with litter picks, beach cleans and care for local nature.

This February 14th onwards, Show the Love connects these small actions into a powerful shared message about the healthier, cleaner and safer future we want.
