🥔🎲 A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO BIG POTATO GAMES! 🎲🥔

A rather brilliant box landed at Keel’s Caff today, absolutely packed with games kindly donated by the lovely people at Big Potato. ❤️

Not only have they sent us loads of different games to add to our community collection, but we’ve also got multiple copies of some titles, which means we can get even bigger groups playing, run games side-by-side and generally create even more glorious tabletop chaos! 😁

It genuinely means a lot when a company like Big Potato gets behind what we’re trying to build here at Keel’s Caff and Community Hub, a place where people can come together, play, eat, talk, laugh and feel like they belong.

So from all of us here: THANK YOU, BIG POTATO. You absolute legends. 🥔❤️

Two trays of our fresh chocolate fudge brownies have just come out of the oven ready for Games Night tonight… and they are looking dangerously good. 🤤

T-shirts. Stickers. And a few other bits we're currently plotting behind the scenes… 👀

Samples are arriving this week so we can check everything looks great, feels great and is good enough to have the Keel’s Caff name slapped all over it.

If we're happy with the quality, we'll be launching our first Keel’s Caff merch range before the end of August! 🙌

Every purchase will help support what we're building here, community, connection and a place where everyone belongs.

📣 GOOD NEWS, WE’RE OPEN! ☕🍔🎲

A little update to our post from last week…

Keel’s Caff will now be OPEN as normal Tuesday to Friday! 🙌

We’re still running our Family Play & Connect HAF provision from 11am–3pm, but we’ve worked things around so that HAF can take place over on the Hub side of our space, while the Caff stays open alongside it.

So whether you’re joining us for HAF or just fancy popping in for a cuppa, some food, a chat or your usual Keel’s fix come on in! ❤️

🎉 1,000 FOLLOWERS! 🎉

What an adventure the last nine months have been.

Today, this little community of ours hit 1,000 followers on Facebook and we just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU. ❤️

Because Keel’s Caff has never just been about food and coffee.

It’s about people.

It’s the regulars who walk through our door week after week.
The people who bring their friends in and say, “You need to see this place.”
The people who share our posts, tag their mates and tell others about us.
The people who pop in for a cuppa and end up staying for hours.
The people who support our events, play our games, eat our food and help spread the word.

And it's everyone who has believed in what we're trying to build here.

A community.
A safe space.
A place to laugh, eat, play, talk and connect.
A place where you can walk through the door and know that you belong here.

📣 A LITTLE HEADS-UP FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS!

Our HAF Family Play & Connect sessions start this week! 🎲🧱🎨🍽️

Because the HAF sessions take place 11am–3pm, Tuesday to Friday, the caff will be closed to the general public during those hours for this week and next.

☕ BUT WE’RE STILL OPEN! ☕

Our regular opening hours around HAF will be:

9:30am–11am — Open as normal
11am–3pm — HAF families only
3pm–5pm — Open as normal

So if you’re one of our lovely regulars, you can absolutely still come in for your Keel’s fix, just pop in before 11am or after 3pm. Food, drinks, cake and general Keel’s nonsense will all be available as usual. 😁

🌟 Want to join the HAF sessions?

If your child is eligible for benefits-related free school meals and you have a HAF code, there are still opportunities to book onto our Family Play & Connect sessions.

Children attend with their parent/carer, and we’ve got board games, LEGO, crafts, activities and a hot meal waiting for you.

We’ll pop the booking information/poster below. 👇

Thanks for bearing with us while we make space for our HAF families and don’t worry, regular Keel’s service resumes either side of the sessions! 💛

When we first launched our Pay It Forward scheme at Keel’s Caff, the wonderful Gripple Limited Foundation helped us get it going with an incredibly generous £100 donation.

And now they’ve done it again! ❤️

Another £100 from the Gripple Foundation has gone onto our Pay It Forward board, ready to provide meals and drinks for people in our community who need them.

And we also want to say a massive THANK YOU to every single person who has ever paid something forward with us, whether it’s been a drink, a meal or a packet of crisps or a curly wurly added to the board.

Because all those little acts of kindness add up.

🥹 So far, your generosity has provided more than 100 meals for people through our Pay It Forward scheme.

That's 100+ times somebody has been able to walk into Keel’s Caff and know that someone they may never even meet has already thought about them. 💛

🎥 A huge shout-out to the amazing Jayne Slater! ❤️

We'd love to say a massive thank you to Jayne for coming along to one of our Game Nights and creating this absolutely fantastic video.

Rather than staging anything, Jayne simply came along, spent the evening with us, soaked up the atmosphere, and captured exactly what we're all about, a relaxed, welcoming space where people can enjoy great board games, fantastic food, plenty of laughs, and leave having made a few new friends.

We honestly think she's done an incredible job of showing the real vibe of Keel's Caff.
