Have you seen any of the Pride of South Yorkshire lions in their wrapping yet? If so, please tell us where. This one is at the old steam engine at Elsecar Heritage Centre in Barnsley. In this shot you can see a portion of the world's oldest steam engine, still in its original location, still in its housing.

Itโ€™s time to stop relying on fossil fuels and invest in renewables.โ
โ
Nigel Farage doesnโ€™t believe renewables work and has been proved wrong AGAIN. NOW is the time for a renewables revolution.โ
โ
Itโ€™s up to US to stand against climate vandalism and division being peddled by Farage and Reform. WE can stand together and defend a fairer, kinder, and greener future for our country.โ

We need your help to defend climate action and basic values of tolerance and respect! Add your name to our urgent petition to say that you believe in a different kind of politics ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://act.gp/3Pq4keM

It looks like things are progressing with Sheffield Council's home insulation scheme in High Green. The concrete slab walls on these council houses are gradually being replaced with bricks and mortar. As you'll see in these photos the new external walls are significantly thicker than the original ones. Is this where the money from the is going?

Finally we'll be able to recycle more from our doorsteps in Sheffield. Including plastic tubs and foil. There will also be a larger blue bin. The changes come to bring us more in line with other local authorities across the country. Please see the original post for more details.

From July 2026, every household will start receiving a larger 240L blue bin for paper and card. You can keep your old blue bin for storage if you want to, and any unwanted bins will be reused or recycled.

From April, you can also recycle more items in your brown bin โ€“ including plastic pots, tubs and trays, aerosols, foil and cartons.

Later in the year, youโ€™ll be able to request an extra brown bin, and larger households can also ask for an additional blue bin.

Collection cycles stay the same, and a new bin calendar will be delivered to all homes before the end of March.
