A huge THANK YOU to the wonderful Sheffield1000 charity for their incredibly generous £1,000 donation! 💚

Here at Aspire, we like to think of ourselves as Sheffield’s modern-day recycling Wombles, quietly working away, making good use of the things that people and businesses leave behind, and turning donations into opportunity, purpose and positive change. 🛠️💻♻️

Our shy but hardworking team don’t always like the spotlight, but they absolutely deserve it today.

Every cable sorted, every computer checked, every item reused, repaired, recycled or repurposed helps keep valuable resources out of waste streams and supports meaningful work here in Sheffield. 🌍✨

This surprise donation will help fuel our very own recycling Wombles, power them on, and keep the Aspire team doing what they do best: Making good use of donated things, supporting people, and keeping Sheffield recycling. 💪💚

💚 Fuel for the day, made with care.

As our amazing volunteers graft through the day (building skills, confidence, and making a real difference in their community) one thing they can always count on is a hearty, healthy meal to keep them going. 🍽️✨

This is just one example of a lunchtime meal, freshly cooked and served by our brilliant onsite café team.

It’s also a lovely example of how small funds and generous grant awards make a direct difference here at Aspire. Supporting people is about more than just training and opportunity - it’s about nourishment, wellbeing, and making sure people feel valued.

Money well spent, we think. 💚

Next time you visit us or bring your recycling in, why not pop into the Atrium and grab a coffee, breakfast or butty while you’re here? You can sample some of the tasty food on offer and support a great local space at the same time. ☕🥪

🌞 This Sunday, while many of us enjoy a day of rest…

Hundreds of people in Sheffield will have nowhere warm to go. No hot meal. No friendly face. No moment of dignity.

That’s why we’re incredibly proud to announce that The Sunday Centre is our Charity of the Year. ❤️

For over 25 years, this small, home-grown Sheffield charity has opened its doors every single Sunday at Victoria Hall - the one day when most other support services close.

They welcome over 100 vulnerable guests: people sleeping rough, in insecure housing, battling poverty, addiction, mental health struggles, or simply facing isolation.

They don’t just serve food.

They serve hope. ❤️

🍽️ A nutritious hot meal (meat or vegetarian), fresh fruit, treats, and (most importantly) a genuine welcome, a chance to sit, talk, and feel human again in a safe, warm space.

Like many small, vital charities, they have no steady income. They run entirely on donations, goodwill, and the dedication of volunteers.

This year, we’re stepping up: donating our own equipment to power their operations, raising funds, and amplifying their voice across our networks.

But we can’t do this alone.

At last - it’s arrived! The day we’ve been waiting five long months for! 🌞⏰

The clocks are springing forward, the evenings are getting lighter, and our spring and summer recycling timetable is officially back in business.

From Monday 30th March, our recycling centre will be open to public donors Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, ready and waiting for your old, broken, redundant, and unused electrical, IT, and electronic items.

Before you make a heroic recycling dash, please remember:

✅ Please avoid lunchtime between 12pm and 1pm
✅ Check the front page of our website before setting off for any unexpected closures or time changes
✅ We are closed EVERY Bank Holiday

So go on - round up those forgotten gadgets, untangle that box of mystery cables, and send your unwanted tech off for a better cause.

Let’s make those longer days count and keep Sheffield greener, one recycled device at a time. ♻️

🎄 Christmas Closure Alert! 🎄

We’re putting our feet up for Christmas! A perfect chance for our amazing team to enjoy the festivities and enjoy some well earned down time. It's been a rocky road for everyone this year.

Your generosity has genuinely blown us away, especially with the cost of living crisis affecting so many people, SME's and Corporates alike.

Because of you, mountains of old kit have been turned into valuable materials… and word is that Santa’s sleigh is looking suspiciously well-stocked with shiny new products made from recycled goodness. 🎅✨♻️

🎄✨ Our recycled e-waste Christmas tree is back! ✨🎄

Every year, we try to bring a little festive cheer into the workshop by building a Christmas tree using only the waste electrical and electronic equipment that comes through our doors.

This year we’ve been so busy we didn’t get chance to make one ourselves — but thanks to a chance conversation, the brilliant team at ArtWorks stepped in to help… and just look at what they created! 😍👏

A huge thank you to Dan Walsh and Chris Senior at Art Works South Yorkshire for making it happen. 🌟

🌿♻️ Fun fact: the tree is made entirely from Cisco access point aerials — and the best bit? When Christmas is over, it can be fully recycled and turned into new products. ✅

🎉❄️ Winter Hours Are Here! ❄️🎉

As the days get shorter and the nights draw in, we’re switching to our Winter Recycling Timetable! 🌙♻️

🗓️ From 26th October 2025 to 29th March 2026
📍 Open Thursdays & Fridays
⏰ 09:00 – 16:00
(With a well-earned lunch break 12–1 ☕️ - even recyclers need to thaw out now and then!)

📦 Please note: This timetable applies only to the general public and in-person drop-offs.

Before visiting, please double-check our website for any unexpected closures or changes, and remember, we’ll be closed over Christmas and all Bank Holidays for a bit of festive downtime. 🎄🎅

Even though the darker nights might be closing in, your old tech and unused electricals can still bring light to the world with a second life! 💡✨
