A very busy session today! We played our version of Family Fortunes, which was followed by firm favourites bingo and boccia... and of course there was lots of chatter, laughter, tea/coffee and biscuits 😄☕️🍪

A busy and enjoyable session today!

We were delighted to welcome two special visitors.

First, Jamie, Social Content Assistant from Sheffield City Council, visited to capture photos, videos and interviews showcasing the amazing work community groups across Sheffield do.
These will be shared on the Council's social media pages such as Facebook and Instagram.

We also welcomed Jim, who gave a fascinating talk on the local history of Grenoside. It was warmly received, and we all discovered some interesting facts about our village.

There was still plenty of time to enjoy our regular favourites too – boccia, bingo and scrabble. 😊

Today we had music, cake (including a delicious homemade apple cake courtesy of former volunteer Margaret)and a quiz where people had to guess (or remember!) the prices of basic food items from 5 years ago. Some people did surprisingly well!
We also gave all members a free week as a thank you for their continued support 😊

We kept the music theme going this week with a music quiz. We played part of a song and members had to guess which film it was from 🎵 🎬

Thank you to one of our members for hosting a short general knowledge quiz, which was followed by two firm favourites: bingo and boccia.

New members are always welcome to come and join us for an afternoon of fun and friendship 😊☕️

🎶 What a fantastic afternoon in Group today! 🎶

We welcomed 3 new members , and they were in for a real treat with our singalong. We had lyrics on a large screen, just like karaoke, and everyone was in fine voice.

Group singing is wonderful for both mental and physical wellbeing, and the best part is that anyone can join in—no special singing skills needed!

We rounded off the afternoon with a choice of bingo, boccia or Scrabble, giving everyone the chance to enjoy their favourite activity.

New members are always welcome, so please come along any Monday for good company, fun activities and refreshments.

A busy session today kept our volunteers on their toes! Our members were on top form and completed the table puzzles in record time.

We then played noughts and crosses with a twist. The room was split into two teams, with each team having to name 5 things from different categories before they could place a nought or cross on the board. We set a 30-second timer, which quickly proved to be far too long as the answers came thick and fast!

We followed this with a choice of bingo, boccia or Scrabble, giving everyone the chance to enjoy their favourite activity.
After tidying up at the end of the session, I think our volunteers were definitely in need of a well-earned rest… until next week, that is! 😊
