Loxley Silver Band Loxley Silver Band is a South Yorkshire based brass band est in 1889; based near Loxley, NW Sheffield

Loxley Silver Band is a Sheffield based brass band & was originally established way back in 1889; now based in Stannington, near Loxley, North Sheffield, South Yorkshire, the band continues to have a strong following to this day. Loxley is a 4th Section brass band with a friendly family atmosphere, with players ranging from 10-80 years!

Shout out to our Solo Horn and Baritone players, Jyotika and Arun, who had a fantastic day at the National Youth Brass Band Championships yesterday! 🎺

Both of them put on a great performance with Grimethorpe North of England Youth Band, winning a silver award. 🥈

Jyotika also played solo horn with the winning band, the National Youth Brass Champions for 2026 - Youth Brass 2000! 🏆

A massive well done to them both, and to everyone else who took part! 🎉

Happy International Women’s Day! 🌸✨

Today we’re celebrating the incredible Ladies of Loxley who make up the heart of our band. Not only do they bring talent, passion, and energy to every rehearsal and performance, but they also represent the majority of our members - something that we’re really proud of! 💜

We wish you all the best for 2026! ❤️

We've had another busy and exciting year as a band! 2025's highlights included:

🥉 Coming 3rd at the 4th Section Yorkshire Regional Areas back in March
3️⃣ Getting promoted to 3rd Section (which takes effect now!) for the first time in the band's 136 year history
📺 Appearing on National (!) Television (and radio) for a feature on the local carols
📻 Appearing in BBC Radio Sheffield as part of Paulette's Loxley Coach Trip
🙋🏼‍♂️ Gaining 4 new players (and sadly saying goodbye to a couple as they go off for some exciting new adventures)
🤓 The training band gaining members and going from strength to strength
🥁 Whit Friday - where we took home the 1st Place 4th Section Prize at Delph and the 2nd Place 4th Section Prize at Denshaw!
🎺 Performing at many fun events including Tideswell Wakes Carnival, Barlow Carnival, Grenoside Gala and Kelham Island Beer Festival
🎵 Some great concerts including another fantastic evening at Bradfield Village Hall, and getting back into Weston Park Bandstand
🔴 Taking part in the Stocksbridge Remembrance Parade and the Remembrance Service at St Mary's Church in Walkley
🎄 28 fun Christmas events
🥳 Enjoying various band socials throughout the year

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported the band throughout the year! We couldn't keep going without you and hope you have enjoyed yourselves however you have been involved with the band. 😁

We're officially a 3rd Section band from today! 😱 We're looking forward to seeing where 2026 takes us!

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even Loxley Silver Band because we have the night off! 🎺

As per tradition, a small group from the band will be playing around Loxley Valley tomorrow morning. Come and say hello if you're around! 🎅🏻
Approximate timings are as follows:
~10.00 - Nag's Head
~ 10.30 - Storrs
~ 11.15 - High Bradfield
~ 12.00 - Low Bradfield

We'll try to keep our stories updated with where we are as we move around (signal permitting). If in doubt, listen for the sound of distant carols! 🎄
