Student-run branch of Anthony Nolan operating at University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam, saving the lives of people with blood cancer or a blood disorder in desperate need of a stem cell transplant. We hold recruitment drives on campus and around Sheffield and sign potential stem cell donors up to the Anthony Nolan register as well as raising awareness and funds.

Come and find us in the SU next Thursday (11th Dec) for some tasty christmas treats to fundraise for the Anthony Nolan stem cell register 🍰🧬💚

VOLUNTEERS: we would very much appreciate it if you could donate some baked goods (or shop bought treats, we’re not picky!). You can drop them off at the stall on the day or contact a member of committee to organise dropping them off with us the night before ☺️

Welcome to Sheffield Marrow!! Thank you for showing interest in joining our society, it was lovely to meet so many new faces at the freshers fair!

We have 2 volunteer training sessions this week. Please try and come along if you can, it’s a great opportunity to meet everyone and learn a bit more about what we do as a society and how you can get involved. Plus there will be free pizza and a special piece of Marrow merch for everyone that attends!! 🍕💚

Help save a life whilst getting your sweet treat fix at our Valentines bake sale this Thursday! 🧁🍪🍩

We’ll be selling delicious baked goods (we take cash and card) to fundraise for life-saving stem cell transplants and also signing people up to the stem cell register (we just need a cheek swab and five minutes of your time!) 💚🤍

Volunteers:
- We’d really appreciate it if you’re able to bake something for the stall!
- If you’ve got any free time and you’d like to help run the stall, please sign up using the doodle (link is in the whatsapp group chat) or dm us to let us know you’re coming
- Don’t worry if you’ve not volunteered with us before/ not been to the training, we can explain it all when you get there :)

This World Cancer day we’re teaming up with Teenage Cancer Trust to help spread awareness of the five most common signs of cancer in young people aged 13 – 24:
- Lumps and swellings
- Unexplained tiredness
- Mole changes
- Persistent pain
- Unexplained weight change
It’s really important to get checked out if you have any of these symptoms – especially if they last for a while and you can’t explain them. It doesn’t necessarily mean you have cancer, but you should speak to your GP if you’re worried.
