Sheffield Health Action Resource for Ethiopia (SHARE) aims to improve healthcare in Ethiopia through sharing of best practice, skill exchange and community engagement. Our Mission:
SHARE is a mutually beneficial collaboration between healthcare providers at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, other affiliates and partner organisations in Ethiopia with a specific focus on the Tigray region. Our Vision:

A lifelong professional friendship between those passionate about improving health, exchanging knowledge and building on the strengths of diversity.

Wonderful examples of the food supplements we are providing for the paediatric oncology, burns unit and adult oncology patients. Despite huge challenges in delivery our team on the ground are doing a really fantastic job, which we are ever so grateful for.

The supplementary feeding programme is serving up nutritious meals to children in the oncology unit and the burns unit. We are so lucky that we have colleagues on the ground to deliver the programme and ensure our donors get every penny spent on nutrition. Thank you Ayder Team.

Good “Lidet” Christmas news!

‘Today with the support of SHARE, our hospital’s burn unit began providing additional supplementary food for burns patients.

Each patient will receive 1 bread, 1 egg, and milk twice a day, prepared in the burns unit kitchen. The program started today, benefiting 14 patients. The Hospital management, the unit staff and the patients are grateful to the supporters and everyone involved in launching this initiative.

Thank you to these wonderful individuals from all different nationalities who have been volunteering in Mekelle recently and heard of our project. Their generous donations will support many displaced mothers and new born babies.

Our colleague Dr Birke has arrived in New Orleans where she is presenting her PhD research project at the International Association for Dental Research conference. How wonderful to commend after a week of celebrating International Womens day in Sheffield too! Congratulations and well done for all the hard work involved in getting to an International Conference.

We have had a wonderful update from our colleagues in Mekelle. Ayder now has a fully functional Oxygen production facility, three working autoclaves and a scanner. The wards and corridors are looking clean and fresh too.
