Futures FC ….the story….
Chapter one.

226 people helped
Many lives touched
Boys became men
Lads became dads
Hundreds of connections made and thousands of memories forged.
We lost loved ones along the way, but the group always stuck together.

So we started as a group that didn’t want to stop playing football in 2015, we had come together from rehabs, walk in services, community groups and charities and we had all accessed the weekly football sessions at Goodwin sports centre.
We decided to fight for what we loved, so myself and Rob Lawson, found a way to fund and continue a much loved get together for lads who loved football and being with other lads, the camaraderie, the connections, the humour and guess what, we had some right players..
We moved venue to Caribbean sports and our great friend Uriah Rennie got involved.

It’s a big day for the Futures FC lads with the Flourish league division one trophy on the line, Futures take on Farm Road FC at Niagra sports , Niagra road, S61LU KO 2pm.
Futures lead the way by one point with a one goal better goal difference, good luck to both teams as they strive to become champions after a long season.

Futures took another big step towards the first division title this evening, taking on David Rudman FC at Thorncliffe Health and Leisure, Futures went behind early on after some excellent football from Rudman, Futures were struggling to get to grips with Rudman’s attacking threat and it took a penalty from Futures Talisman Reuben Howells to bring Futures level but within three minutes Futures were 2-1 down after some good play from Rudman, then it was time for Adam Fiddler to turn on the style with three quick fire goals that sent Futures in at half time 4-2 up , what a turn around, Fiddler has been on fire scoring eight goals in three games he single handedly turned this game in Futures favour with a sublime goalscoring display.
The second half saw Rudman come out with renewed enthusiasm and it wasn’t long before they were awarded a penalty, which they dispatched with confidence 4-3 to Futures, Reuben Howells and Matt Sellars were now stepping up and Derren Darby struck an important fifth goal for Futures, settling nerves and putting some daylight between the teams, with the clock ticking down, up stepped Reuben Howells to seal the win with another brace to take his team over the line, Futures now move on to Sundays clash with Farm Road FC at Niagra Sports in the hope that they can be crowned champions in their final season.

Futures have a massive week ahead with their last two games in a thrilling title race, only separated by one point Futures are leading Farm Road in the Flourish first division.
First up is old rivals David Rudman FC cup finalists themselves , they are no pushovers and Futures take them on at Thorncliffe Sports on Thursday under the lights KO 7pm , win this fixture and Futures will be crowned champions , next up is arch rivals Farm Road FC, Futures host them on Sunday the 24th at Niagra Sports KO 2PM.
If Futures can avoid defeat in either of these fixtures then it will be an invincible last season with silverware to sign off with…
