Have your say on accessible healthcare information and communications
This year marks 10 years since the Accessible Information Standard was introduced in England. RNIB is carrying out a survey to understand whether blind and partially sighted people can access the healthcare information and communications they need today.

We want to hear about your experiences of things like appointment letters, test results, medication information, communications from healthcare services, and digital services such as the NHS App. Whether your experiences have been positive, challenging, or a mix of both, we'd like to hear from you.

The survey takes around 10-15 minutes to complete and your feedback will help inform RNIB's policy, campaigning and influencing work to improve access to healthcare information and communications.

Yesterday we had the privilege of attending the Sheffield Parent Carer Forum's SEND Information Event at St Catherine's Catholic Primary School, where we gathered feedback on people's experiences of health and social care services in Sheffield. We also shared information and advice on health and social care services across the City.

The event also gave parents of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) an opportunity to speak to key services in Sheffield and learn more about the support available for them and their families across Sheffield.
A massive thanks to Sheffield Parent Carer Forum for inviting us and to everyone who shared their experiences of health and social care services with us!

Baroness Casey launches the Big Conversation on Care with the public

BARONESS CASEY LAUNCHES THE BIG CONVERSATION ON CARE WITH THE PUBLIC

Baroness Casey of Blackstock has today (29 July) launched The Big Conversation on Care, the most ambitious public conversation in a generation, handing the public a direct role in shaping the future of adult social care in England.

Between now and April 2027, The Big Conversation will give people across England the opportunity to say what they want and expect from a future National Care Service, including on the tough questions on who it should support, what families should reasonably be expected to do, and how the country should pay for care in a fair and sustainable way.

The launch follows warnings from Baroness Casey that the adult social care system is “broken”, and that previous attempts to reform social care have too often failed because they have tried to resolve fundamental questions without first building public understanding and consent.
