Last week we laid one of our incredible young people Umar Farooq to rest.
Umar was a kind, funny and thoughtful young man who attended our Thursday climbing sessions for over five years. We watched him grow into a fine, polite young man with ambitions to encourage more young people to get involved in the outdoors.
He excelled on our life skills programme and residential to Scotland in 2023 and was in pursuit of completing his CWI qualification. Umar was an amazing role model to our younger members and a great friend to us all.
We will miss him dearly, but we will always remember and honour him.
