We need the support of MPs in Sheffield too we cannot afford for social care to collapse.

Olly Glover, MP for Didcot and Wantage, and Henley and Thame MP Freddie van Mierlo joined campaigners in Westminster calling on the government to address what they called a "crisis in social care".

We have to keep pushing for the most vulnerable we care for 💯

Today marks a significant step as the National Insurance Contributions Bill reaches its final stages in Parliament. The House of Lords has completed its Third Reading, and now it’s over to MPs to decide whether to approve the amendments before the Bill becomes law on 6th April 2025.

What’s at stake?
🔹 The Bill proposes increasing secondary Class 1 NI contributions to 15%
🔹 But thanks to our collective pressure, care providers, hospices, and small charities with less than £1m in reserves will keep a reduced 13.8% rate
🔹 There will be a six-month review of the Bill’s impact on social care, healthcare, and small businesses

Our campaign has already ensured key protections for the care sector, but more MPs need to step up and support our call for long term funding security.

On Tuesday, 25th February, we’re taking to the streets to show that social care cannot wait! 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

We’ll gather at Church House (SW1P 3NZ) from 10:30 AM, then peacefully march to Parliament Square Garden to highlight the urgent need for social care reform.

With a £68.1 billion contribution to the UK economy, 1.59 million jobs, and essential NHS savings, social care is vital, but the sector is in crisis.
