📢 We're hiring - come and join our team!

👀 We're looking for a Children's Group Leader and a Children's Support Worker to join our fantastic team at Sheffield Mencap and Gateway, working on Saturdays in term-time only.

💛 You'll help us deliver fun, inclusive activities for children with learning disabilities and/or autism, supporting them to build confidence, make friends and have a brilliant time.

💛 If you're energetic, caring, patient and want to help us make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.

⚽ In our Wednesday Sports Group, members practised passing, shooting, and communicating as a team.

🎤 Time to warm up your singing voice - Karaoke is back at Gateway club this week!

😃 If singing isn't for you, there is a wide range of other activities to choose from at Gateway including baking, arts and crafts, pool and computer games.

😃 Gateway is inclusive, welcoming and fun. The club is a great opportunity for adults with learning disabilities or autism to get out of the house, meet up with friends and make new ones. We have a relaxed cafe area to socialise in, have a drink and a snack and maybe even take part in the bingo.

👉 On Monday and Wednesday, Gateway club is aimed at adults aged 30 and over.
👉 On Tuesday, Gateway club is aimed at people aged 18 – 30.

😀 Looking for a fun and friendly way to spend your Sunday? Join us for Sunday Social – a relaxed, inclusive monthly group for people with a learning disability and/or autism, along with their families and carers.

🍴For just £4, you’ll enjoy unch and a choice of activities including pool, snooker, karaoke, games and more.

🏝 Each month we have a theme - October's is Halloween fun, with spooky soup and scary sandwiches, ghoulish games and optional fancy dress.

🫶 You can make new friends, catch up with familiar faces or simply get out and try something different - everyone is welcome.

In Thursday Sports Group our members played Wheelchair Rugby with Sheffield Eagles.

🏉 A member said “I have never been in a wheelchair before, I really liked this experience and I want to do it again.”

🏉 A huge thank you to Sheffield Eagles for funding this group and for bringing the equipment with you. Our members loved this experience.

🍎 In our Monday Independent Living Group, members have been learning about different food groups.

🍎 Each person coloured in a food group for each section to help build their confidence in identifying where different foods belong. This helped them complete their final food chart.

🍎 The group also enjoyed discussing the foods they eat and sharing their favourite meals with one another.
