Access Space

Access Space Arts/Digital Creativity/Community Engagement Access Space is currently online only. We are between spaces, so watch here for updates! Talk to us about a quote.

Please note we are not running laser cutting sessions at the moment. Access Space has been the UK's longest running open access media lab and has recently undergone a transformation into a multi-use arts venue for music, creative workshops, exhibitions, events, and we even ran a Pixelache Network international digital arts festival in 2015. In late 2016 to 2019 we developed a second space, Access

Space Labs, opposite the Sheffield Institute of Art on Fitzalan Square, to create a space for research and more experimental work. At Access Space, you will find people interested in art, design, computers, electronics, music and more. Come and meet like minded people, share and develop skills or discover something new in our focused drop-in activities, series of workshops, exhibitions and events. Access Space operates at a low cost with a low carbon-footprint using recycled donated computers and free, open source software. If you would like to donate laptops which we can re-use in our charitable and educational work please email [email protected]

You can join our Hackspace (http://access-space.org/hackspace/) and work on your own creative, enterprising and technical projects. Alternatively, Thursdays are Laser days where you can talk to us about using and hiring our laser cutter and cnc router We offer free advice and will help you get the work you want created cost effectively. We offer help and advice about repairing repairing & recycling computers, consumer electronics, and just about anything else, every Wednesday 11am-5pm, for free. Email [email protected] if you have something specific you'd like to repair.
