“The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest.”

l reading, Jesus invites His disciples to look for the abundance of ways God is at work in the lives of communities and individuals, and to join in with His mission to share the good news and gather the lost.

This month, as we think as a community about how we steward our time, talents and treasure, we reflect on God’s invitation to each of us to join in with His mission in the world. What is He calling you to do with your time, talents and treasure?

Sheffield Cathedral is excited to host ‘Peter Marlow: The English Cathedral’ exhibition: images of the 42 cathedrals Marlow visited on his photographic pilgrimage across England, organised by the Peter Marlow Foundation - the charity set up to continue his legacy. ⛪

Sheffield Cathedral is the 28th of the 42 cathedrals to host the exhibition, which is in the 11th year of its ongoing tour.

Part of Marlow’s process involved using Fujifilm FP 100 Instant film to test each shot. In recognition of this, Fujifilm has supplied Instax cameras and film for the exhibition tour. 📸

We invite visitors to take photographs of the exhibition at Sheffield Cathedral and put them up on the designated wall. Peter Marlow Foundation will choose a winner from all who contributed a photo, and will award them with an Estate Stamped Fine Print of a cathedral photograph of their choice.
Please enquire at the gift shop if you’d like to take part.

The Pride of Yorkshire trail has begun! 🦁

This wonderful sculpture, painted by the fine artist and muralist Natasha Clarke, is one of many lions you’ll be able to spot in and around Sheffield Cathedral.

‘The Dame’ lioness was created in celebration of Dame Jessica Ennis Hill, the now-retired legendary athlete.

“'The Dame' is a special piece to me, not only does it celebrate powerful women from the region, it's also celebrates our mixed heritage. My family came to the UK during Windrush, I wouldn't be here today if my Nanna Rose never took that leap of faith. I'm grateful to her and I'm proud of both my British and Jamaican identity!
Representation is vital. Growing up I felt alienated, for a while I rejected my blackness and wished to be white. Being mixed race is a unique experience where you drift between two cultures, sometimes feeling lost or that you don't quite fit in either camp. 'The Dame' which includes portraits of Dame Jessica Ennis Hill is for all the other mixed race girls who deserve to be seen.”
