📸 to when we last performed Elijah at Sheffield City Hall - 6th March 2009.
What a memorable concert with the wonderful and charismatic Nicholas Kraemer and The Hallé.
And the baritone soloist was Roderick Williams - what a treat! 🎤✨
We’re excited to return to Elijah with The Hallé on 7 June 2026 at Sheffield City Hall, this time joined by Leeds Festival Chorus 💫🎶

🎶 What a fantastic day of singing!

It was such a pleasure to welcome 60 visitors who joined us from near and far for yesterday’s Come and Sing. Thank you for bringing such energy, warmth and enthusiasm, and for the wonderful quality of singing throughout the day. It really made it special.

We hope you enjoyed the music making (and the cake!) as much as we did. Upper Chapel was filled with the sound of nearly 200 voices, creating something truly uplifting together.

Huge thanks to Darius Battiwalla and Neil Taylor for leading and accompanying us so brilliantly, and to our wonderful soloists. We are so lucky to have such talent within the choir. ❤

Thank you as well to our enthusiastic audience, and to everyone behind the scenes who made the day run so smoothly. 👏

✨ We loved singing with you, and hope to see you again soon.

Missed out or ready for more? Join us at our next Come & Sing event Saturday 17 October 2026 – Brahms - A German Requiem. Save the Date!

Huge congratulations to Sheffield composer Cassie White 🎉✨ on winning second prize in Tenebrae’s Undiscovered Voices composition competition.

Her new piece, 'Travel Lines', was performed last week at the live final concert at London’s Wigmore Hall 🎶🏛️. The prestigious jury included Tenebrae’s Musical Director Nigel Short, alongside composers Cecilia McDowall and Joanna Marsh.

Cassie was runner-up in our 2025 Stella Jockel Young Composer Competition and joined us for our November concert, where we performed her piece 'for music like the sea' for the very first time 🌊🎼.
👏 We are so delighted to see her work receiving this recognition 💛
