Roundabout Homeless Roundabout is South Yorkshire’s local youth housing charity.

We support over 500 young people aged 13-25 every day across Sheffield and Rotherham, providing tailored support and guidance that empowers them on their journey towards independence. Roundabout is Sheffield's local youth housing charity, and provides shelter, support and life skills to young people. We provide emergency accommodation for homeless young people at our emergency hostel and support y

oung people to live independently in secure bedsits and in shared housing throughout the city. Roundabout also offers young people a comprehensive programme of training and involvement which breaks the cycle of homelessness and develops long term independent living skills.

The wait is over, Krazy Races is here!

Our incredible teams have spent months designing, building and perfecting their karts, and today they'll be taking on the course in a spectacular day of speed, creativity, entertainment and community spirit.

🕺🎶 Meet Team Roundabout's Krazy Races Entry 🎶🕺

Our Rotherham team are bringing the party to Krazy Races with a soapbox that's guaranteed to get the crowd moving!

Driven by Project Worker Nikki, this colourful rave-inspired kart isn't just aiming for a fast time down the hill, it's also in the running for the coveted Best Design Award.

And we've even heard rumours there might be a dance routine involved... 👀

🏁 Krazy Races – Event Schedule 🏁

Join us on Sunday 21st June as teams race their incredible handmade soapboxes from Barker's Pool down Fargate in Sheffield's first-ever Krazy Races event.

Alongside a day of epic racing, there will also be live entertainment, markets, and a historic aircraft flypast at around 3pm!

Come along, cheer on the teams, and enjoy a fantastic day in the city centre.

Every penny raised will support Roundabout's work with young people facing homelessness across South Yorkshire.

⏳ The Countdown to Krazy Races is On! ⏳

With all of our teams adding the last lick of paint to their soapboxes, Sheffield is set for an incredible day of spectacular soapbox racing on Sunday 21st June.

We'll have a racing badger taking on a larger-than-life pickle, while a replica Stagecoach bus goes head-to-head with the Ghostbusters' iconic Ecto-1 (which has fully working sirens, by the way!). And if you think a racing pickle sounds impressive, just wait until you see the giant dragon staring down the competition... 🐉

🏁 Racing takes place from 11am to 4pm, with prizes awarded not only for race performance, but also for the best costumes, team spirit and entertainment.

✈️ Spectators can also look forward to a special historic flypast during the event, featuring either a Spitfire, Hurricane or Dakota aircraft, with timings to be announced closer to race day.

🎶 Alongside the racing, there will be live entertainment, food, markets and plenty of family-friendly activities throughout the city centre.

Come along and cheer on our amazing teams while supporting Roundabout and the vital work they do with young people facing homelessness across South Yorkshire.

A huge thank you to everyone at Beauchief Golf Club for making their Captain’s Golf Day in support of Roundabout such a fantastic success! ⛳

As part of the day, Ladies Captain Ann held a bake sale at the halfway house, raising an incredible £379.20 for Roundabout.

We're so grateful for Ann and the teams continued support and dedication to helping young people facing homelessness. Their fundraising efforts, along with the generosity of everyone who donated and took part, will help us continue providing vital support to vulnerable young people across South Yorkshire.

And of course, we couldn’t let the day pass without mentioning Colin (The Captain) and his special Colin the Caterpillar cake! (Last picture 🎂)

Sheffield is getting ready for its very first Krazy Races Soapbox Derby, in partnership with Roundabout, bringing gravity-defying karts, wild costumes, family fun, and full-throttle entertainment from Barker’s Pool down to Fargate 🚗💨

Alongside the soapbox racing, we’re excited to bring you a full day of live music and performances, adding even more energy to an unforgettable city centre event.

A vibrant contemporary choir delivering uplifting pop, indie and alternative arrangements full of harmony and community spirit.

A huge thank you to Rotherham College Students’ Union and the amazing team behind their Social Action Months initiative for collecting welcome pack items for the young people we support at Roundabout.

Special thanks to Tegan and the Students’ Union Team, whose efforts will help young people moving into new accommodation across Rotherham feel more comfortable, settled and supported as they begin an important new chapter.

These donations will make a real difference, providing essential household items and helping young people create a place they can call home.

🎉 We’re delighted to share that Roundabout has been awarded £455,306 from The National Lottery Community Fund over the next five years.

This vital funding will help us to fund our Peer Education, Homelessness Prevention and Crisis Intervention services, supporting more young people across South Yorkshire with the advice, education and emergency support they need.

As our CEO Ben says: "Through a combination of preventative measures and crisis intervention, this vital funding will bridge the gap between immediate survival and long-term stability, ensuring young people never have to call the streets home."

The funding will enable us to train more Peer Educators with lived experience of homelessness, reach thousands more students through homelessness awareness sessions, and provide housing advice and support to young people facing crisis.

The National Lottery Community Fund distributes more than £600 million each year through over 13,000 grants and plans to invest more than £4 billion into communities by 2030, helping life-changing projects become a reality across the UK.

A huge thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund for making this possible. Together, we can continue working towards a future where no young person experiences homelessness. 🩷
