🗨️ “It’s opened up a lot of conversations” 💬

We’re proud to announce that Roundabout’s Talk It Out service has now launched in Rotherham.

After seeing the positive impact the service has had in Sheffield, we’ve expanded support for young people and families across Rotherham, helping to prevent youth homelessness through open and honest conversations.

Talk It Out offers confidential mediation support, giving young people and their families a safe space to talk, listen and work through challenges together with the guidance of impartial mediators.

Sessions are designed to be flexible and accessible, whether that’s over the phone, via video call, during a walk or in a private setting, depending on what feels most comfortable for those involved.

By helping families communicate without judgement, Talk It Out aims to rebuild understanding and create positive ways forward together.

Find out more about Talk It Out and how to access support via our website.

Dearne Valley College Donates £1,500 of Welcome Pack Items to Support Young People 🩷

A huge thank you to Dearne Valley College for collecting an incredible £1,500 worth of welcome pack items for the young people we support at Roundabout.

As part of their Social Action Months, students and staff came together to donate essential items that will help young people moving into new accommodation across Rotherham feel more comfortable and supported as they begin an important new chapter.

It was fantastic to welcome DVC to one of our Rotherham properties, where they met with our Rotherham Service Manager, Scott for a tour of the property and had the chance to see first-hand the impact their support will have.

Sasha, our Community Fundraiser, said: “We’re so grateful to Jess, Katie, Aaron and everyone at Dearne Valley College for their amazing support. These donations will make a real difference to the young people we work with, helping them feel welcomed and settled into their new homes.”

Thank you again to everyone involved. Your support means so much!

☀️ What a gorgeous Bank Holiday weekend! ☀️

We’re finally being treated to some lovely weather, and what better way to enjoy the sunshine than getting outdoors!

Our recent Peer Eds walk took place at Grenoside Woods and was a lovely chance to enjoy the fresh air, catch up, and spend some time outdoors together. It was especially nice to have a great mix of staff and young people joining the walk and creating such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Walking and talking can do wonders for wellbeing. Getting outside, moving your body, and connecting with others can help reduce stress, boost mood, clear your mind, and improve both physical and mental wellbeing.

Everyone had a great time, and it’s quickly becoming a regular and popular activity among both staff and young people.

With the sunny weather continuing, we hope everyone gets a chance to enjoy some time outdoors. Stay safe, keep hydrated, and layer up on the sun cream! ☀️
